This is from a few MSU fans on Frank Wilson leaving...

"Thats ok, because UT’s gonna get the same talent they’ve always got, and guess what, after 3 “OK” seasons with a terrible coach like Kiffin- maybe one bowl win, and a average fball team- UT and their ADM will realize that Fulmer wasnt the problem, and their will be a huge sigh of “OH CRAP! What did we do!”

And when we are better off than “Jerk” Kiffin and “O” for 8 Caveman, Wilson and maybe a recruit or two he steals will be quite envious of our progress, stuck in their world of mediocrity."

I barely made it through the whole post. Instant entertainment. Here are a few other quotes...

"I can’t stress it enough, its gonna be so funny when UT sucks this yr. And they’ll be sitting there looking around the locker room at eachother, all those “great” coaches and recruiters, will not know what to do with themselves."

"How arrogant can a person (Kiffin) be? I hope his players see his true colors."

MSU fans have been cheering for bottom feeders so long. They deserve the chance to be a little bitter. :hi:

MSU fans talking about an average football team....hell, when was the last time they saw a team as good as "average" wearing maroon?

I guess if anyone knows what mediocrity looks like, it's someone in Starkville.

Maybe so but I am convinced that MSU will always be mediocre because of Starkville. That place is a trash-hole if there ever was one. It makes Tuscaloosa look really nice.

I've coveted many a fan base for having the coach that everyone hated. I am finally glad that it is our turn!

One thing that really surprised me when reading the comments was Kiffin's statement that

"not only do we have the best recruiters in the SEC but some of the best in the country. Two of the coaches (Orgeron in 2004 and Thompson in 2008) have been recognized as the Rivals.com National Recruiter of the Year. It was imperative to not only find great recruiters but great recruiters that knew the conference. To be able to take South Carolina’s recruiting coordinator, Mississippi State’s recruiting coordinator, Alabama’s best recruiter and Auburn’s best recruiter over the past 10 years was a great accomplishment for us. Once again, I would like to thank Mike Hamilton, the athletic department and our donors for making this possible.”

This IS a very arrogant statement that is unnecessary. Actions speak louder than words and, in this case, his hiring of such a great staff should have been sufficient. While I am glad that we've got a coach who's not scared to to go toe-to-toe with Spurrier, Meyer, and Miles with innuendo trashtalk, each of those guys has a record of success on the field. Maybe I'd just prefer it if Kiffin would lay off statements like that for about a year.

I like it. For once, we have a coach with swagger. And, to be honest, nothing that he said was untrue. If you can back up what you say, then I have no problem with it. He said we'd get the best, and he got them. That will only translate to swagger for the rest of the team.

Exactly! There is nothing untrue about what he is saying. I don't really care if it hurts someones feelings or not. To all those people who are saying hes being arrogant, wash that sand out of your vagina and quit being such a pussy.

I completely agree that everything he said is true. Part of my reasoning is that since I've been in Georgia, I've come to greatly admire Mark Richt. I just feel like he's a class act who truly stands above everyone else (now that Sly Croom is gone from MSU) in the SEC from a character standpoint. Put him in contrast to the laughing stock that Phil had become and it's easy to see why a little character and integrity can be nice. At this point I don't know enough about Kiffin's character to make me feel either positive or negative about him and I just don't want things to start slipping into the negative column based on a comment like this.

It feels so good to finally be the one the other teams are saying oh **** about. As was said before we got our swagger back. Someone ship this team some old spice ASAP!

I agree wholeheartedly about Richt. From everything I have seen or read, he seems like a class act. Having said that, UGA fans are only going to put up with high expectations and mediocre results so much longer. If you look at that team, they could use a little fire, much like our team has needed it for the last several. I appreciate the coaches that conduct themselves with class, but I think Kiffin can be thought of as a class guy who is an SOB when it comes to football. I for one love it.

I like it a lot....I was a Fulmer supporter and I got to the point where I realized it was time for a change....I liked his approach to things taking the high road and when we won let the talking be done on the field, but I also like the fact that Kiffin isn't afraid to let it rip too...Noticed Steve Spurrier hasn't said anything else since Kiffin spat back at him for saying Kiffin made a recruiting violation by saying who he was recruiting and where he was going at his press conference...I like coaches like Fulmer who didn't say much and let results do the talking and I like coaches like CLK that knows what we got and isn't afraid to flaunt it, there was nothing wrong with that quote he was just telling it like it is

As far as the topic of the thread goes: Miss State should know what "HORRIBLE" coach and a "MEDIOCRE" season looks like....They had several with Croom and now they are in store for several more with Dan Mullen

He's such a class act that he told his players to clear the bench in the UGA vs UF game 2 years ago to celebrate in the endzone.

Unsportsmanlike Conduct to the first degree, that's premeditated ****.

MSU never recovered from losing the SECG to UT in 98...They have been terrible ever since...that's why they hate us so bad.
