"If you don't like the arena, don't bring them", suggests you put up with the fans or don't come.

Well I guess he should have known that you can take the redneck out of the trailor park, but you can't stop the trailor trash from flowing out of a redneck's mouth.

Whats the big deal of listening to our cheer we have/had to listen to Rocky Top whenever that TN has kicked our butts for the most part of the last decade.

You are absolutely right guy. Win some lose some, don't ya? I have to admit there is nothing like singing Rocky Top 100 times in one game in Tuscaloosa.

From what I know Rocky Top doesn't have any lyrics in it that tend to humiliate and make fun of their opponent like "Hey insert name of team here , we just beat the hell out of you". Bad argument.

Guys, Competing with 'Bama all these years has been a lotta fun for me. I'm 63 and can't remember a time that was anything but nice give and take from both UT fans and 'Bama fans in the areas I have been in. Somehow, though, it loses some of the enjoyment when fans on either side act like asses. It will always be a great rivalry and ups and down for both sides. Let's keep it a rivalry and not a war. Heck, to quote CPF, I just got a date with a very nice Alabama lady and that woud not have happened if we had not been wearing our school colors and standing up for our respective teams. Nice things happen when you use some class. Man, at 63 I appreciate going out with someone 20 years my junior, and it will be a little more fun because she is a 'Bama girl. We'll get 'em next year. Go VOLS and Viagra!!!

to the original poster, glad u had a good time. Sorry that some idiot fans did what they did. But we arent all like that. I was at the game and gotta say, every bama fan around me was really nice and classy. Might have been because i took a girl that was a bama fan, but still very nice. I even walked and talked with one for about 10 minutes after the game. But glad you had a good time. Neyland is a pretty amazing place. And i really hate to say this, but the girl i took made the bama stuff look pretty good lol. But anyways, take care. Go vols!

Tennessee/Bama has always been an intense, partisan and vocal rivalry. UF game doesn't even come close... no class at all.

Have an old (and I mean OLD) program of UT/Bama game... men dressed in suits, ladies in dresses and heels; sportsmanship was as important as school loyalty. Now, we have this acceptance toward unacceptable behavior. Too bad. The sport suffers the more for it.

We've found, generally, Alabama fans very cordial, and have tried to return the favor; I mean, after all, where can you top "Dreamland"? (unless it is "Little Dooeys" in Starkville!)

Oh yeah, I remember the year Peyton broke the Tide's string of victories... it had been a miserable nine years I think; we watched the Pride of the Southland Band come down the Hill playing "Rocky Top", and right behind the band was a group of Bama fans marching and cheering, "It's great, to BEAT, the Tennessee Vols!" Priceless! Stupid, and annoying, but funny. They weren't around anywhere after the game. Go figure. No substitute for winning!
