1. Mike Norvell
He has an incredible offense at Memphis despite having lost an NFL draft pick at quarterback. This is the man who essentially developed the offense that Justin Fuente ran and still runs with extreme success. To me, this is a no-brainer and would provide the offensive spark that Tennessee so desperately needs right now.
2. Brent Venables
Do I even need to explain myself here? The man has literally been surrounded by winning his entire coaching tenure. He has never been part of a losing season under Bob Stoops or Dabo Swinney. He essentially knows what it takes to win at a high level and would be a home-run hire. The man does not know how to lose! To top it all off, he has an absolutely ferocious defense at Clemson ,and defensive minded coaches tend to do extremely well at SEC schools (Kirby Smart, Nick Saban, etc.)
3. Les Miles
A proven SEC winning coach would be an excellent hire. In addition, he averaged winning >9 games a year in the significantly tougher SEC West division. He's likable and would definitely rally the fanbase in his support. As a whole, he reminds of Philip Fulmer and would be an excellent hire for Tennessee. The icing on the cake for this hire is that he is an excellent recruiter and could potentially steal some of the better recruits from Louisiana.
Feel free to share your list of candidates.
Thanks,
Matthew
