Reason #6 came down yesterday when Berry told reporters he was meeting with Latrell Scott.
My biggest fear in all of this is that our coaching staff will be predictable and telegraph Berry's first offensive play (assuming he gets one).
Let me know what you think about my first play for Berry.Would it work? Have a better suggestion?
Eric Berry on Offense: reason #6 - the play is at the bottom in the last couple paragraphs.
I posted his PF show comments on another thread, where he stated that he "had" to catch that tipped ball and "had" to get to the endzone. I love the attitude.
He's a playmaker, and with GJ likely limited, we need an offensive boost. I don't even necessarily think that it will be from a "G-gun" type formation. Line him up outside and throw him the ball -- he's fast enough to beat somebody deep, and he could also turn a little underneath screen into big yardage. Wouldn't it be nice to see Taylor, Berry, and Warren as targets?
I said this earlier in the week. Use him as decoy some, throw it to him some. Make him a part of the offense they have to respect, not a gimmick.
Its called being innovative. I have no clue why they don't attack defenses. Playcalling this year has for the most part been bad. I guess partly due to the qb. It was a train wreck early. Its gotten better, but probably not enough to matter this week. The fact that we dont use him more in this role amazes me. The risk is almost non-existent. He does not even have to get tackled or use up much energy to use him like this. Use him as a decoy. Fake a reverse to him. Fake a WR screen to him. The defense will immediately adjust when they see him come onto the field. Is that rocket science?
Since every SEC fan in the free world hangs upon your every word, anything you suggest is surely compromised.Reason #6 came down yesterday when Berry told reporters he was meeting with Latrell Scott.

Now, doing the double deke and coming back to Berry on the play you suggest would, due to everyone expecting Freak's play, be indefensible. However, Nick Stephens will most likely be annihilated about midway through the second deke.
