Peyton Manning had a monster day that day; he threw for 301 yards and opened the game with an 80 yard touchdown pass to Joey Kent on the first play from scrimmage. This one was never really in doubt as Manning executed the offense to perfection and the defense repeatedly harassed the Tide quarterback Freddie Kitchens.
