My Thoughts

Most UT fans confuse reloading and rebuilding

For the longest, we reloaded. We got use to it. Spoiled by it

The concept that our team fell this far is confusing for some and the denial of the situation makes it worse

If Dooley is not the man, then I expect him to be removed, just as I did Fulmer.

I am just willing to cut the man some slack and give him time to get his roster up and more talent on the team, before I begin calling for his head.

I think every rational fan should agree with this

I think a lot of the problem is we have looked really good in games that we really shouldnt have and I attribute that to good coaching.

Others wont see it that way. The fact we were tied at half with Alabama and only down by 7 to LSU, is not just because we were lucky

This.

It should be stickied and a popup on login.

This is SPOT ON. It is a different situation entirely when you know you have the roster to compete and underachieve. That is not our situation.

Our situation at this stage is ALL ABOUT recruiting, retaining and developing talent on par with those in our league.

If we had BAMA's roster and our results, then YES it would completely justifiable to be calling for Dooley's job.

We are a few years away from having competitive talent even if we continue recruiting at a high level.

Go VOLS!!

Here goes!

I'm going to use real world scenarios in trying to compare the issues with this team.

Elite combat units in the military are made up of the best of the best. These units are rarely compiled of new recruits for varying reasons. The most important aspect is experience. These units practice and practice scenarios over and over again in order to be the best. When a new member comes into the unit, there is a learning curve for that new member in order for them to be a cohesive and deadly option when the time comes for their services to be used. The experienced members help the new recruit, showing them the ropes and helping them to become one of them. These units know one another and trust one another. These guys also trust their leaders and have to. You cannot doubt your leader or the unit fails at its mission and people die.

An elite unit cannot be made up of totally new recruits, if it is, the unit will fail. The reason is the inexperience within the unit itself. No leaders within the unit to help mold the others. Inexperience leads to mistakes and lack of a cohesive team. These units have to mature and grow together, which takes time. After time, you know what the man on the right of you is going to do, without having to ask. You are doing things without being told. You see things happen before they happen. This is only from experience. Now, any new recruits that comes in, you can show them how things are done. Your unit cohesiveness is not as interrupted as if you replaced the whole squad again. Guys are in place to maintain the level of experience, while adding to the units manpower.

Now lets look at our team. In 2008 and 2009, our team was ambushed and annihilated.

We had to create an elite team from all new recruits. No one on this team had enough experience at each given position, in order to help these guys learn the ropes. Most of the starters are just as wet behind the ears as the new recruits. They have yet to have time to gather the knowledge and experience in order to become a cohesive team.

But some of you expect to go against superior teams and play like a team with tons of experience.

Give this team time to gain more experience and you will not be disappointed

Just my two cents

Post of the year!!!! :salute:

This makes too much sense for this board. Don't confuse the mindless.
