My thoughts on SEC Media Days

The highlight of the week was when several reporters asked Saban in many different ways how he will be able to talk about integrity in the home of a recruit after what he did to Miami.

He had no answer. It was awesome.

What did he do to Miami???...oh yeah, the same thing Don Shula did to the Colts...Tuberville did to Ole Miss...etc., etc. Our recruiting is RUINED!!!!:eek:lol:

Saban went on national television and stated very clearly numerous times that he wouldn't be going to Alabama for a head coaching position. What happened next. I guess bammers really don't care what kind of character their coach has. It is going to be so fun to hear all of them whining when they either don't win or WHEN he leaves for another job.

I bet most recruits don't know or care about that. Recruits shouldn't be worried about their coach bolting on them because Saban isn't leaving Bama. No college will offer him more money. No NFL team wants him now. His job is more secure than Phil Fulmer's at this point. I can't think of any reasonable scenario where Saban will leave Bama for another job.

You've got to be kidding. You think for one second that Saban won't bolt for the NFL if Jerry Jones throws about $30 million of guaranteed money at him?

Everything I've read says that he is now an NFL pariah. Besides, did Saban not take a pay cut to go to Bama?

Hopefully he will do bad enough at bama that no one will want him to coach their team.

I doubt it. Even if he does, from what I understand about his contract he's going to be there for awhile no matter what he does.

I seriously doubt Jerry Jones is going after Nick anytime soon.

It was just for the sake of an example. If Saban has a couple of good years at Alabama, do not underestimate the ability of any number of NFL owners losing their minds.

He was making about $4.5 million in Miami, so once endorsement money is factored in, the deals are pretty comparable I think.

They would have to be brain locked to go after him again. He failed miserably the first time; he'll fail yet again if given the opportunity. After his letdown in Miami, I don't see how any GM or owner could give it a serious thought.

I agree, but the NFL is the league that gives Jerry Glanville, Wade Phillips, Tom Coughlin etc second chances. Never say never.

Saban just got a verbal from Tyler Love last night, one of the top offensive tackles in the country, he's the 11th "in state" verbal commitment.:dance2:

In what way? You mean that 5 game improvement, just on the brink of the playoffs in his very first season?

Yeah, I thought the same thing when I read that post last night, but I wasn't in the mood to debate the nuances of Nick Saban's 15 minutes in the NFL.

I'm not wild and crazy about defending him either, but...
