My take on the Cal game

Why are you so dense? No one is trying to argue against your win or make excuses for our loss. But you make yourself look like a typical delusional and grossly uninformed fan when you say that Cal's offense is better than LSU's. FYI, LSU's "untested" QB pitched a 45 point shut-out as his first game at the helm. And by the looks of things, Miss St. probably has a better defense than we did Saturday night.

you said LSU's offense is better than Cal's. You cant possibly be arguing that LSU has better OL/RB combo than Cal (247 yards rushing, no sacks?) or better receivers than Cal....(Djax is better than anyone Early at LSU) and our second WR had how many yards against you?

So if the OL/RB's are at worst equal and the WR are equal, than you're saying the QB is better? Or is there some other players on offense that makes LSU's offense better than Cal's?

I'm still waiting on why LSU's offense is better than Cal's. And who else has a better offense than Cal?

By continuously rehashing your stats against us you are missing the critical point that we have the youngest and likely worst defense in the SEC east, if not the entire SEC. You'll see in the coming weeks that LSU is the truth.

haha, yeah don't let stats get in the way. 482 yards against Tenn or 347 against Miss St? I dont know, i think the 347 is more impressive! lol

It's not about playing defense. It's about being a team leader, playing explosive offense and encouraging your defense to get the stops.

Im still trying to figure this one out. Can you help me out with this? By being a team leader, playing explosive offense and encourgaing your defense, you pitch a shut out? Those are the three main elements? So Matt Leinart must have had tons of shut outs his senior year since he was obviously the QB of an explosive offense, was by all accounts a team leader and always encouraged his offense....oh wait, it actually takes good defensive players to shut out a team, lol.

Can you please explain this to me? Im still trying to figure out how those three elements shuts out an opponent?

and actually, 86 of those yards were in the fourth quarter when Flynn was out. lol. So with this pretty good QB, who makes the difference in LSU having a better offense than Cal, LSU had about about 260 yards of total offense!

I really hope cal has to play a top sec team in a bowl. i have seen alot of bad talk on some other boards how they shredded TN and now the sec is all hype etc. You might have shredded Tn d, but that really aint saying much right now, if you think about it. You also gave up 31pts to a mediocre offence 2. And I see, from what I have been reading, all the tn and sec haters jumping for joy now because your supposedly NO.2 team in your conf beat a mid at best sec team.

Talked to a team manager last night that said that Mitchell was taken to the hospital. They were all getting ready to fly back right after the game, so my guess is Mitchell stayed behind. I'll hit up some of my old contacts and see if I can get anything more recent and specific.

mitchell flew home with team

Cal coulda have scored 60 last night if they had wanted. When we were up 38-21, Tedford called off the dogs, like he ALWAYS does. he doesnt like to run up the score when up by 14+ in the second half. We scored 45, had fumble at the one inch line, then called off the dogs with 7 mins left. We coulda scored again. That would have been 59 on a defence that in the SEC wont allow more than 20 points a game. In the fourth quarter, when it really matter, Cal outgained Tenn something like 171 to 2 yards. Cal was just bigger, faster, and deeper.

If we didnt call of the dogs for those three series after going up 38-21, then the fumble at the one inch line, then calling off the dogs with 7 mins left...concievably we could have put 66...45 + fumble at goal line + plus calling off dogs + if Fulmer didnt give up with 2 mins and had gone for it, that would have been another TD since we would have stopped you at the 15 yard line (remember, 2 yards of total offense in fourth quarter)--thats 66 if tedford was an ass and wanted to run up the score, unlike how Im feeling right.

You guys lost, Cal was the better team, Pac 10 football is just as good as the SEC...you guys arent as good as Cal so then you go back to the argument that the SEC is a better conference. just accept the fact like we did last year. You guys beat us then, we beat you now. There were some fluky things that happened last year (new offensive scheme, going from power running game to spred if huge adjustment in first game) freshman CB with a broken hand...but you guys beat us, this year we beat you down.

Hey doofus, calling off the dogs is putting your second team in and leaving your heisman candidate, with a bandage on his hand, on the sidelines. Don't give me that crap. You guys were blitzing till the end. You won fair and square, but Tedford never called the dogs off.

I hope to GOD LSU plays one of Cal or USC this year in a bowl so that you can get a taste of what the top SEC team can do. I promise, you won't ask for more.
LSU wouldn't come within two TD's of USC.

Your idiocy is simply astounding. You think Cal has a better offense than LSU?

Wow.
LSU has talent on offense, but not that much more than Cal. And one team has Jeff Tedford, and the other has...

... Les Miles.

... Yeah.

By continuously rehashing your stats against us you are missing the critical point that we have the youngest and likely worst defense in the SEC east, if not the entire SEC. You'll see in the coming weeks that LSU is the truth.
I know we did bad, but all of a sudden our defense is on par with the likes of Kentucky, Vandy, Ole Miss and Mississippi State?! Hardly.

You're like my doppleganger of two years ago, but with the SEC instead of the Pac-10.

Why do I have to continue to school these PAC-10 fans?

Les Miles career at LSU -22-4
Jeff Tedford at Cal 43-20

Enough said.

Les Miles is an incompetent hack who is riding the talent that Nick Saban gave him to decent records. Without Bo Pellini, he is absolutely nothing, the SEC's version of Larry Coker.

With the talent LSU has, there's no excuse to not be winning the SEC practically every year. I'd even venture far enough to say that Les Miles' LSU teams have been year in and year out the most talented in the country, even more so than USC, and he has done practically nothing with it.

I'm not even comparing him to Tedford. I'm simply stating that Les Miles is not a winner.

Are you that oblivious? He's only been there for two years, has gone 11-2 both years, playing a top 10 SOS each time. LSU finished in the top 5 of the rankings each year he was coach. That's a few more W's than your program -- one whose crowining accomplishments are being the beneficiary of a USC choke and taking advantage of a very second rate Tennessee.
