My take on the Cal game

who in the SEC has as good an offense as CAL? Tenn? (2 yards of offense int he fourth quarter) Florida? New QB, Georgia? they were above avg last yr, still a yr away. LSU? new qb, hard say how he will go. lemme see, the juggernaut that is bama, or maybe kentucky? how about Ol Miss?

Your idiocy is simply astounding. You think Cal has a better offense than LSU?

Wow.

How many points did LSU score last year? and now they have a new, unproven QB. tell me how thats a formula for a better offense than Cal's? (QB who passes for 240 yards, 154 yards from the RB, another 40-50 from Best, DJax who played well even with a dislocated thumb, Hawkins who had about 90 yards receiving). We put up 482 or so yards on you guys in 3.5 quarters, you got beat, take your lumps like a man instead of trying to discredit Cal by saying how one of your rivals is better than us, lol.

and when SC beat Auburn, that was also Matt Leinart's FIRST game as a a starter. And last year, SC scored 50 on Ark (which happens to be 5 more than we put up last night)....that wouldnt have changed if they had a true frosh QB, who btw happens to be fourth string as USC right now.

Anyway, instead of attacking my spelling or calling me an idiot, why don't you actually tell me why I'm wrong? Still havent given me any reasons why LSU's offense will be better than Cal, or about Georgia or Florida, etc? Come on, or is all you can do is poison the well?

Why are you so dense? No one is trying to argue against your win or make excuses for our loss. But you make yourself look like a typical delusional and grossly uninformed fan when you say that Cal's offense is better than LSU's. FYI, LSU's "untested" QB pitched a 45 point shut-out as his first game at the helm. And by the looks of things, Miss St. probably has a better defense than we did Saturday night.

First of all, learn to spell.

Secondly, USC beat Auburn when Jason Campbell was what, a freshman? They didn't have Cadillac Williams that year either. So you're looking at a green QB and a green backfield. It was also obvious from Auburn's subsequent 4 losses, including one to GA Tech, that they were vastly overrated that year.

And last, USC beat Arkansas last year when their leading rusher was injured and a QB (once he was replaced, Arkansas went 8-0). Granted USC was quite good last year, but Arkansas managed to beat some good teams. I'm not saying USC wouldn't have beat them had things been different than described above, but it wouldn't have been the blow out that it was.

And if you want to attack my spelling, you might as well make sure that your grammar is proper. it should be "and lastly" lol. That's doubly true because for point two, you said and secondLY. so for this, you'd say and lastly, both because it is correct and because you need stay consistent in your word choice. This is message board, so I don't really care to check my spelling or grammar. You evidently do, well, actually only your grammer.

If I have to explain it to you, you're even more uninformed than I imagined.

The QB has nothing to do with posting a shut out. Miss St sucks, so 45 on them is nothing, esp when LSU made 6 interceptions. Sorry if facts get in the way.

But going back to this amazing QB, he went 12-19 for 128 yards, a 6.7 yards per attempt avg. His backup avg 7.0. Not exactly gang busters.

Oh, and the last 14 were from the backup QB. So 31 points in three quarters (plus 6 interceptions, of which exactly six came in the first three quarters...scoring drives for LSU: 8 yards, 35, 35, 36 38, 41 and 73) against Miss St vs. 38 points in three quarters vs. Tenn...hmm, I don't know what is more impressive.

Longshore's never shut out a team, he doesn't play defense. Neither has Flynn nor Ainge nor Montana, Joe nor Marino, Dan.

there is absolutely no grammar rule that mandates this. that's an issue of style.

it is considered poor style when in one sentance you say use an ly (secondly) then don't in the next bullet. is it worse than than not using a spell checker? I don't know!

Oh, btw, can you prove that there isn't a rule that says you can be inconsistent like that? lol Where does it say you can do that? haaaaaaaaaaaaa

There is no source that will provide a rule mandating either usage, because, as I've explained before, it's a matter of STYLE. I am tired of arguing with you. Believe what you want, about both grammar and footbal.

It's not about playing defense. It's about being a team leader, playing explosive offense and encouraging your defense to get the stops.

You still haven't told me why Flynn is such an amazing passer after his 128 yard outing against a team with a worse defense than the terribly Tenn defense!! and tell me where it says you can mix styles like that? I said it's bad grammar, so if it isn't, you should tell me why it is good grammar pretty easily!

Don't let the facts hit you on the way out!

so by being a team leader and encouraging your defense in addition to the explosive offense, which Cal obviously has, a QB can shut out a team? Hmmmmm

Cal's defense isn't exactly spectacular either. It will get exploited again and again this season. I give you 3 losses, at least.

Boy, you'd be in trouble if you had to take the LSAT. Logic doesn't work in such a way as to preclude something from being allowable simply because there's no rule in existence expressly allowing said thing.

No doubt, but my 173 on the LSAT sure as hell proves that I'm smarter than you!

And why do you keep changing the subject? Tell me how Flynn is such an aamzing QB after his 128 yard performance?

where did i say he was amazing? i simply pointed out to you that he's not as green as you'd like to imply and his team had a very good first game. we'll see what he does in the rest of the SEC, but my guess is that LSU will be a major threat this year and a likely contender for the title.
