My SEC East Prediction (w/ Division recorrd)

I think we lose to miss state or bama. I like our chances against bama this year but all depends if we are healthy. Miss state is a trap game for us and can go either way. I think we go into Athens and Columbia ready for war, but something about Starkville that has me pessimistic.

Notice this thread is about the East. The records stated are against East competition. We could be 6-0 in the East and 6-2 in the conference.

Based on my poor math skills.

fyp

And I fyp only because mathematically, 6-0 still is the best case scenario since we haven't played a game yet. When we lose our first SECE game, then best case will be 5-1, and so on and so forth. Just sayin'. I mean, it isn't slow-pitch softball where you come to the plate with a 1-1 count. We don't start the season with a loss, either.

It was my opinion, but I am not expecting us to beat both UGA and USCjr.

So therefore, it is realistic expectations. If we were coming off a 10 win season from last year, I would say it is a realistic chance we beat everyone in the east this year.

But when was the last time we beat UGA, USCjr, and UF all in the same year?

You must have made excellent grades in school.

We have mathematically sucked for the last few years. What makes you think we are all of a sudden going to win every game in the east this year. If you have something good to base this on, I'd like to hear it.

I love this. But I really think Vandy squeezes out 2 wins. Hopefully one against USCe, and of course UK.

If they can manage to sneak one out against south carolina, our road will be much better looking. I think Nashville will be electric next Thursday with high expectations of an upset. I don't like Vandy at all, but I just have this feeling they will beat south Carolina.

Here's the way I see it:

1. Tennessee 5-1
2. UGA 5-1 (with loss against UT)
3. South Carolina 4-2
4. Mizzou 3-3
5. Florida 3-3
6. Vandy 2-4
7. UK 1-5

I'm sorry spazzy but the words electric and Nashville just don't belong in the same sentence when talking about college football lol.

Except when UT plays at vandy. :)

I didn't say I believe we would win each game in the east. I'm simply saying that your words of "best case scenario" show that we cannot definitively do better than 5-1, which gives us A.) either a guaranteed East loss, or B.) starting the season with a loss in the east.

Until we play games, the best case scenario is 6-0. When we lose our first game it goes to 5-1. Lose the second game, it goes to 4-2, etc.

I get what you're saying but I just think the way you said it made it confusing. So, using the way you said it, my realistic expectation is for us to finish 4-2 or 3-3 in the east; but, using the way I said it, the best case scenario is 6-0. It's all just semantics. :p

1. Tennessee (6-0)
2. South Carolina (5-1)
3. Mizzou (4-2)
4. Georgia (4-2)
5. Florida (3-3)
6. Kentucky (1-5)
7. Vanderbilt. (0-6)

I...words...can't find...how?

In what world is Kentucky better than Vandy? In what alternate universe are the Vols going unbeaten in SEC East play? I feel like I wandered into bizarro Volnation in the last few weeks. The predictions seem to be getting increasing disconnected from reality. And don't get me wrong; I'm no negavol. But there is a difference between optimism and delusion.

As you said, this was my opinion. But it is also my expectations for the upcoming year. Can we go 6-0 in the East? Sure, but I am not expecting it. That's why I said it was based on realistic expectations. Nothing confusing about it.

To me, optimism for this year is for us to go 9-3 with losses to UGA, USCjr, and Bama.

For us to beat UGA and USCjr both, I would say is overly optimistic and even unrealistic.

The defense will have to be short of superb for us to run the table in the east, and there just isn't enough proven depth and experience there for that yet, IMO.

I agree wholeheartedly. There's allways a chance that we could pull off a shocker over Georgia or South Carolina, but assuming that it's a foregone conclusion makes no sense.

You should never ever doubt what no body is sure about.

We are undefeated until proven otherwise imo.

This is one of those ridiculous fortune cookie sayings that sports is littered with. We haven't won a damn thing either, so we might be unbeaten, but we're winless too.

West End is never electric unless the VOLS are in town.
