That's the thing about this team... That record is entirely possible. I could see that scenario panning out and us being 10-2... But then again I could see us losing to NC State and having another 6-6 type season.

We probably land somewhere in between 6-6 and 10-2. But I wouldn't be surprised with either of those outcomes tbh.. Thats what makes this team interesting.. They're either gonna shock the world, be mediocre, or fail miserably... Wouldn't bet on one over the other

I'm hoping your predictions are right, just not "that" confident in the D-fence

We will win with offense, the defense will be improved as well though. This is the best offense we have had in a LOOOONG time. We will get some wins due to confidence from the beginning of the season. NCST is our most important game of the year, sets the pace for the rest of the season.

How well Jacques Smith does at the Jack LB when we go into the 3-4 will be a huge factor in determining the success of our defense and our team as a whole, IMO.

I have to admit that Wilcox was a good DC, but the guy was just scared. Justin didn't have any balls, basically reacted to the offense all year. Sal will not sit back, we are going to be aggressive boys. We have some serious talent on defense and they will be utilized much better this fall.

Way to go out on a limb there...

If you know anything about UT then you will realize that we always finish strong at the end of the year.

I don't believe for one minute that Wilcox was scared; he was working mostly with freshmen and sophs and didn't have the depth that we now have. There's a BIG difference in this year's team with 3 yrs of experience, strength & conditioning, and added depth; you can't compare the two realistically. Not expecting miracles but Sal & Co are not working with a blank slate either.

The big question mark on this team is the kicking game. It can win you a couple of games each year and it can lose them also. Unless it is drastically improved, I could see it costing us against teams like Fla, Georgia, and South Carolina, games that will probably be very close.

How do you figure we put up over 40 points against Candy and Kensucky--SEC opponents whom we are perennial opponents with--and only put up 38 on GA State, who is still in the infancy of their football program? Not saying we don't win or even shellack all three of those teams, I just think that the numbers are reversed (quite significantly). I'll hang up and listen.
