1) J Hyatt
2) pass protection

Thats bout it.....now

I'm probably the only one on here that thinks Tenn. Came into the game with a good game plan on Offence. If we had any chance at all we had to shorten the game by running the ball. Al. has had a little trouble stopping the run this year. We did rush for 139 yards today. There was one head scratcher on the 3rd and 7. I think they hoped to get at least 3 or 4 yds and go for it on 4th down.. We did get 2 first downs on 3rd and 8 and 3rd and 5 by running the ball before that call. As far as stopping them we had about the same success as the rest of the teams this year including Ga. They did put up 41 on them. The turnover by Grey to start the 2nd half threw water on what little fire we had left. We could have laid down then like past teams but we still fought regardless what some on here think.I was disappointed in the tackling today they were in position several times to make a stop but couldn't. I thought Cade Mays had a good game along with JG.
For everybody wanting to fire Pruitt you better stop and think that one thru real good. I think we win 4 out of the next 5 games.

Positives on this game. Gray should be the starting back from just a pure running standpoint (I know ball security showed up this game). Hyatt showed up. Cimaglia made a FG. They didnt score 50. We have a bye week.

Agree with 1 and 2. There was quite a bit of time for the QB to throw. We ran it decently too, enough that they had to respect it. I saw a couple of Baja players hesitating on the run, until it was apparent it was going to be a pass.

Where does one go to find passing stats, specifically their field distribution......length and location? We've watched teams make a good living over the middle on us, but try as I might, I do not recall us using the middle of the field. Don't know if that's a function of Chaney or our illustrious QB. I have a suspicion.

Shortening the game works better when you aren’t snapping the ball with 25 seconds on the play clock
The reason for that is it keeps the other team from substituting.
It also keeps the other team from bringing in blitz packages. I think that's one reason the pass protection was good today. I didnt say they were successful in shortening the game but they did put themselves in manageable 3rd downs by running it some.

It also creates 3 and outs in less than a minute and puts our D back on the field too quickly. This was not shortening the game by any stretch. Go back and watch what Kiffin did the year he was here and that is how you shorten a game.

I think because of Al.'s recievers the safties were tentative about coming up and not getting beat over the top. The one throw they did make over the top was covered real well. The guy just made a hell of a catch. They executed to perfection and without a pass rush I see no team stopping it. I thought Thompson did a good job on Smith though. As far as us doing the same I think your suspicion is probably right.

Bama's pass rush was pretty vanilla tonight. I didn't get it. The few times they brought more, it rushed JG into incompletions.
