1) Vols looked prepared on both sides of the ball--and played hard. That's not to say that we played well all the time--we clearly didn't--but we played with purpose throughout.
2) Offense grew up a bit. First half was lackluster, but Worley looked improved and played very well in the second half, though he MUST run the ball more and he's still a beat late getting rid of the ball a lot. North getting better, but we should be throwing more possession passes to him and Croom and the TE. Take advantage of their size. Only one turnover, albeit one that cost us the game.
3) Neal and Howard are players. Neal is an underrated back--he was a Hoss today against a good defense, and in some big situations. And Howard gives UT some speed that we have badly needed. He gives us a threat on the corner, which everyone in the country but the Vols has had for a few years. Coaches got him the ball and he moved it, and he should get better.
4) Special teams were amazing today--probably the best special teams performance in 10 years.
5) Defense hit well--some hard tackles. Like Howard on offense, Sapp gives us some speed and playmaking ability on defense. Need more of it, but he helps. McCullers made his presence felt on several plays...They all played HARD.
