My only concern with Pruitt

My only concern is that we won't have enough scholly's for all the big time recruits he'll have coming here.

Guys he had a hand in recruiting...

Derrick Henry, Jalen Ramsey, T.J. Yeldon, Reggie Ragland, C.J. Mosley, etc.

Per 247 he has recruited 11 five stars and a long list of 4 stars.

Jeremy Pruitt All Time Recruits

Who all wanted to play for a National Championship under Nick Saban at Alabama...

If he wasn’t a home run 2 weeks ago, he’s not a home run now. The definition of home run doesn’t change.

Pruitt was the DC for Hoover High School for a long time and he got 3 or 4 state titles during their run before the coach got fired for misconduct and academic fraud. Pruitt left Hoover for GA then of course he was at FSU for a year then went to Bama where he’s at now. I think with a great staff this could be a promising hire....we could get 8 wins next year with him and go from there. Don’t think we see 10+ wins though.....question is if he is hired how long does he stick around??[/QUOTE]

I would lay a good sized buy out on him that is favorable for the University with Saban getting up there in years. Would hate to have him come in and then bolt three years later.

depends on who's doing the defining, and we're not in the position to be doing that right now......

everything is relative.

I have liked him all along and posted that several weeks ago. There was no interest in him on here then . I don't understand why not. His dad is a highschool hall of fame coach in Alabama , he can recruit, he has connections . It worked out pretty well for Ga this yr

Can you name a great staff that stays together a long time?
Clearly I should have worded that better...seeing that a few of you missed the point. My concern is his staff working well together without a lot of infighting. He didn't mesh well with the guys at UGA. Hopefully he wouldn't turnover his staff a lot because he's a pain to work with.

My only concern with Pruitt would be staff continuity. I think he would put together a great staff, but how well will they hold together? He's a very intense/aggressive guy and it caused issues at UGA. I think that's the only risk with him. The personal life stuff seems to be well behind him from all accounts. His resume as a DC and recruiter is elite. The guy badly wants to be a head coach and is extremely competitive. I think he's a potential home run hire and the best option on the board. Unlike Steele and Tucker, other programs are actually showing interest in him as a head coach...and I think that says a lot about the other two candidates.

Very legit concern. Love the guy as a DC, but not sure if he has what it takes to run a top SEC program. As for his staff, he may try and poach Kevin Sherrer from Georgia for DC. Pruitt brought Sherrer with him to Georgia. For OC, Rush Propst would be a slam dunk hire if the fan base and politicians could get over one marriage related incident in his past. It would be the return of Hoover High.
