First of all, he is an attorney which means he most likely understands NCAA rules and regulations. He worked and learned for years under Nick Saban....who in my opinion is the best in the business right now. He has NFL experience. He was the recruiting coordinator at LSU where he landed two #1 ranked classes. He is young, seems to be energetic and tenacious...and can obviously recruit big time players. Further, he seems to really want this job and wants to be in Knoxville. He comes across as a man that will embrace UT and will represent us is a classy and tasteful fashion. I think we potentially have a very good young coach on our hands. Let's get behind him, support him, and have faith. I have a very good feeling about this guy...........

Quin Snyder had a Duke law degree. How well did his dealings with the NCAA turn out?

Dangit Hat, you are one of the people with whom I felt a mutuality of some sort based on the long lived lashing we both took for speaking against Coach Fulmer's continued tenure but right now I think that we have to take DD at his word and believe that this man has the will and desire to make our team what it was. I believe he can do it and I think he can do it the right way.

We have a new coach? I thought we had hired some sort of televangelist. That guy's the coach? More Patron, bartender.

Awww, come on Hat!

Don't be so quick to judge the guy.....give him a chance. I'm sure that he'll allow the nuclear jock sniffers (you know, delusional self-absorbed people who think that a donation to the VASF makes them important) to continue their self-delusional belief that he gives a crap about what they think.

I think that coaches like that are right up your alley. And while he did have just the slightest tan, I don't recall him mentioning himself as a member of the Judaic faith. You're going to LOVE him! Matter of time, baby, matter of time.

In short, I think that you - a rich lawyer and very powerful member of UT's elite - will absolutely love him, just as you did Kiffin.

That's where we see the world differently. Just because some marbled mouthed SEC legacy puts on an orange tie doesn't mean I have to do anything. I love the hypocrisy around here. Everyone constantly talks about what scum Saban is and how dirty a recruiter he is. Yet, when we hire one of his errand boys, they act as if we've hired a combination of Joe Paterno and Billy Graham. It's laughable. The only positive is that the patience of this fanbase is in much shorter supply these days. That'll keep this from being a long running joke.

I've got a feeling that Hammy will be run out of town with him. I guess we will see in a couple of years.

And hopefully you'll eat crow with your never ending sarcasm. I like you Hat but why do you continue to be asinine about everything, you have my respect as far as your knowledge goes, but damn man have an open mind sometimes, this guy might be right for us.

Please go ahead and say how many years. I heard someone on here said Pearl would be fired within 2 years, 3 maximum. That person never admitted they are a horses ass.

Hat, I do not see Saban that way and I completely understand why he left Miami when he did. Right now this program needs a champion and nobody whose name I recognize was willing to strap it up and drag our bacon out of the fire other than Dooley. He may not be the guy we wanted but he's the guy we got. I'm all in.

Thank you for pointing out our hypocrisy. Likely, we would have missed it without your help.

Could you be working any harder to delegitimize this guy? I'm curious as to why. Maybe he should completely abandon us at the absolute worst possible time, and single-handedly endanger our entire program for the next 10 years or so......you know, like Kiffin, who you really like.

Joe Paterno is not a southerner. He coaches at Penn State. That's up north. At least keep your fallacious arguments somewhat consisent.

I'm not sure that you would be in any position to best assess the patience of our fanbase. You're somewhat removed, being in the upper echelon of wealth and power.

Perhaps you shouldn't nominate yourself as the group spokesperson? Mull it over.
