I was on the Ball State campus in Muncie, IN, as I listened to the Sports Babe (ugh) on ESPN Radio to hear whether or not Peyton Manning would be staying at Tennessee for his senior season. They carried the press conference and to say it was a great moment is an understatement.

I’ve not been an the BS campus since, but I can still “see” the exact scene as I listened to that wonderful news.

I was there for a Quaker wedding (A Quaker area). The first Quaker wedding I ever attended. The congregation should speak about each of the young married's accomplishments. The Quaker bride's family spoke for twenty minutes and volumes about Holly. My brother and I were looking at my Grandma and Mom like, say something good about Andy (our cousin). We fumbled for a minute and said things like he is a beloved frat brother, etc. Why were we not warned? The reception and everything were fantastic. By the way, the corn field started 100 yards after you left the town border. Muncie is rural. Nice people.
