After following this thread, I'm wondering if hubby would rather be going to the games with his buddies. :ermm: Hmmmmm.

Don't know him or how long you've been married, but the likelihood is...

My wife could care less too. Sounds like you have a good one since she doesn't mind you going on road trips with the guys. I think I would keep her, sports fan or not.

I admit, it is nice seeing guys with their woman at the games and the female having a good time.
I say keep her.

I have the same problem except I'm the female and my hubby could care less about football.:p......I'm the sports fanatic in this house and that's fine with me.
My wife could care less about football as well. She went to one game and didn't care for it. She doesn't care what games I go to and is smart enough to leave the house when I watch my Vols on TV (too intense). She's a really good woman. On the flip side, my oldest son is a huge Vol fan and is engaged to be married next Sept 20, 2010 (Florida game). His bride to be refuses to move the date in spite of the conflict with the game. I'm sure my wife will give me a descriptive recap of their nuptials.:D

Have the grammar Nazis on here come up with a verdict on the use of this phrase? I know there was a debate about this last year when someone used the phrase.

I've seen/heard "could care less" or "could not care less" all used interchangebly... just wondering what the proper form is.

The interest of the topic is directly proportional to the interest of the grammar. :whistling:

My wife is from Texas. She claimed to love football before she met me. She didn't know it was possible to watch 25 hours of football in a weekend. She hates it now. It probably started in 2006 when she wanted me to go to her friend's wedding. Of course I stayed home and watched Tennessee beat UGA (remember the punt block? great game). I was completely unrepentant and I think that pissed her off more than anything.

She has not been to Neyland. I know that if she goes to 1 or 2 games, she'll be hooked. We live in Utah and she became a Jazz fan, and an RSL fan (MLS) because we went to a few games. I just gotta get her to Neyland. I plan on being back in Tennessee in a year or 2. I can't wait.

And I don't mind posting a pic of my lady on here at all.

"Couldn't care less" is the correct phrase. "Could care less" doesn't make sense if you are trying to show how much you don't care.

j/k...now you've got me wondering which one is correct. I'm just glad I'm not the only one that may have goofed.

I'm sure someone will enlighten us as to which one is right.

my girlfriend didnt like football at all when i met her. she likes soccer and hockey, and her dad played major league soccer or something of the sort before he tore his acl.

i took her to our university's games and some high school games. she has legit tried to learn the rules of the game, but you can tell that she gets bored quick.

no matter how hard i tried, i could not get her to care in the slightest about college football. then we started watching football on sundays, and shes all for it now. she gets into the big plays and hits and even wants to go to the next redskins-eagles game. so its a start..

so i say you consider it a "work in progress"

My wife doesn't like any sports, and hates going to Neyland for games. Sometimes she goes anyway with me, but I don't mind those times when I go alone. However, she did really enjoy a Titans game we went to in Nashville a few years ago, because of the comfortable seats, accessible restrooms, bigger selection of food (and drink, including beer), smaller crowd, etc. We both wish Neyland was more like that.

I've been dating my girlfriend for about 2 1/2 years and she absolutely can't stand football. We came across some free S Car and Fl tickets a couple years ago and went to the game up in Columbia; she just laid down on the bleachers and played tetris on her cell phone for practically the whole game. She's orginally from Switzerland and was raised around "futball" not FOOTBALL; she's not a soccer fan either or any sport for that matter. When I want to go watch a game with the fellas, she does't contest at all. She doesn't care when I travel for games either. But when I'm at sporting events and I see guys with their gals, I get a little jealous. Should I drop that sort of jealous feeling and be lucky that she doesn't want anything to do with my sporting addiction? Or should I try a little harder to get her involved. She's a FOX and looks really good when she wears orange :) ...especially when she wears the UT hat that she stole from yours truly. Fellas, I need some opinions.

Do not worry, My wife is from Peru and has absolutely no clue what football is all about, She knows futbol but not the american game lol....She says I stress her out when watching and game from all the screaming and hollaring I tend to do during games....She doesn't know if I am hurt or mad or just excited haha!!....She will learn....Slowly....But that's part of the fun I suppose..One thing I do have in my favor is she loves the pretty orange and white colors of the school....Told her to get used to it as there will be a lot more of it in the house in the future....Oh yes, there will be

My wife was born and raised in Greenbrier, TN. She loves UT football. But she won't watch a game with me, after last year. I yelled too much. So maybe you have it lucky!

Wow, you don't meet many people that grew up in Greenbrier! I was born in Hendersonville, but moved to Greenbrier when I was 6 and lived there until I left for UT. :hi:

You did it all wrong. You needed to break her in slowly.
We had a Venezuelan, Bolshevik in training, atheist exchange student stay with for a football season, I mean high school semester. He didn't even want to be in America but for a fluke in the Rotary exchange program ended up here. He constantly told us how everything was better in Venezuela especially futbol. We started his cultural education by taking him to his high school's football games. He started getting into it a little. We then took him to a DIII game (the high school game had more fans in attendance) so he could start appreciating the college game. We then took him to a UTC game which had more folks than the DIII game but less than the high school games. He was starting to get into but still didn't believe in God. Then we took him to Neyland Stadium. The kid couldn't get over the experience. He's been back in Venezuela now for two years but is probably the biggest Big Orange fan in South America, goes to church regularly and wanted to vote for McCain.

Does you Swiss girl friend shave her legs and arm pits? If not, see if you can find a Venezuelan; the do.

What does being a vol fan have to do with believing in god, going to church, or voting for mccain?

Something hilarious in this thread - could be the next big joke on VN - but I'm going to leave it up to someone else.

dont marry her, you'll never see another game, or you'll have to beg. Don't do it.

If you really love the girl it'll be fine. I married a California girl. She didnt like football at all when we first met but she was a trooper and would go to games with me (mostly Titans, some Vols). Now I catch her her yelling at the TV right there with me.lol I will say that she is more of a Titans fan but I think it has to do with the star players being there for more than just 4 years.

If your girl is a fan of another team, have fun with it. I'm a big St.Louis Cardinals fan and my wife is a big L.A. Dodger fan. We have fun giving each other a hard time and we like picking fights...it gives you an excuse to "make up".

How hot is she? If she's smokin', then you can put up with it, if not, there's plenty of fish in the sea.
