My game plan for VT

Yes..they lost 3 of 4 starters....and they weren't that good last year...the new D line will be great! Actually will be bigger and better, this is a fact.

Doubtful. Madi and Nicolas were very good together. Settle will be good but in time. VT front 7 isn't very good or deep.

How do VT fans feel about their LBs this year? That was the real weakness of the defense last year, wasn't it?

IMO we match up very well against teams with LBs who are lacking in versatility since we have some TEs and RBs with multiple skillsets. It can present some problems for oposing defenses.

Of course, none of that will matter too much if our OL's pass blocking doesn't improve.

Regardless of talent or depth, you've gotta expect Foster will put together a disciplined and effective front seven.

That doesn't mean we won't present too many mismatches for them. But I wouldn't close the book on them as no good.

We don't need trickery too beat this bunch, my guess is we dominate them like Peyton did in the Gator Bowl.

I'm thinking this will be a well balanced approach by CBJ, nothing special to tip off the rest of the schedule, just a workmanlike approach, preparing the way.

37 UT, 24 VT

Yes it was and probably will be again this year..LB will be the concern. Motuapuaka has been hit or miss..great motor but tends to over pursue. Edmunds is solid though. Huelskamp should be back to add depth after out with an injury last year..but after that, there is no experience. We do have a few true Freshman LB's but they will take a while to develop.

To touch on the D-Line, starter Ekenam is back at end with Nigel Williams and Woody Barron, both in the 2 deep last year will start this year, Both had solid years last year when Maddy and Marshall were out with injuries. The wild card will be the other end. My guess is its a wide open competition with Gains, Hill and Mihota.

The defense in all will be better then last year..IMO as the were numerous true freshman playing last year. The corners will be lockdown in Fayscon (Barring injury) and Alexander (if he gets reinstated). If they don't play, then we will have some concerns at DB.

I am truly not worried about our Defense...Foster always finds away to get it done on that side of the ball. The concern is the offense...we have had no offensive identity the last few years. Will be interesting to see how Fuente utilizes the players on the team to fit his system.

Explanation of "subject to change": Wife's Game Plan.

Your wife's "game plan" is for you to get the lawn mowed, and if you want to get it done before the games, well you just better start early, hadn't you, mister? As for bringing you food? Get it yourself, you lazy bastiche. And drinks? Sorry, no drinking in the house this weekend, Junior is having his cub scout troop over for a "campout" in the back yard. So can the adult beverages. Same for your wife wearing a bikini; ain't happening with all the junior chipmunks around. Dream on.

Wife's game plan puts our game plan in an early grave 9 times out of 10. :)

Yep! Men just want to have fun. Women want to take that fun deep into the woods, and shoot it dead.

I cannot wait to kick back, pop open a cold one, and watch Tennessee dominate VT on PRIME TIME TELEVISION :) It will be a good day to say the least!

We will have to agree to disagree on the Dominate part, as I believe the game will be closer then everyone thinks...however any day closer to college football season is a good day!!!:good!:

Living in the Shenandoah Valley with some of the HOMER-ist Hokie fans...I can tell you...there is NOT a lot of expectations for a close game. And as I was in the stands when the former coach who should not be named, gave away a Peach Bowl to Beemer 'cause his mind was already in Cali...

I'm gonna enjoy it.

E. Berry returns the kick to our own 1 yard line and takes a knee. Dobbs throws a 99 yard bomb to himself. Dunks it over the goal post. Fuente resigns. Spurs the Vols to a 231 -13 victory.

My gameplan is to be in my pool slamming gin and tonics and watching it on the big screen on my porch wall while having scantly clad women* bring me food and more booze.

*subject to change

What is subject to change? If it is JUST the women part, I know I am not crashing YOUR party.
