Deschutes is a great brewery.

Cherry popped. I just poured the Deschutes into a glass. Lawd, the first taste was an attention getter. I damneer poured it out into the sink. The taste is kinda citrusy and pine sappy at the same time. Definitely different from any thing I've drank before.

Go on.....

Over the years, I have learned to tolerate it but it's just not my thing. The only time I get it is if I am in the mood for it or there is nothing else available. I just prefer other drinks over IPAs.

It seems to me that a number of these start-up boutique breweries hide their lack of brewing expertise with overly generous finishing hops, hiding mediocre beer with hoppiness. Inevitably, their early offerings are IPAs.

#2. Sierra Nevada




My beer pouring skills..., well let's just say I'm out of practice.

Right out the gate, the Sierra Nevada has the same basic flavors, however, it didn't punch me in the mouf like the Deschute did. This is quite a bit easier on the buds. So far...

The Sierra Nevada, for me, was way better from start to finish.
