JTrain5, that was pretty much how I felt at first as well.
But the more I learn about Dooley, his recruiting, and staff, I'm glad I didn't hang myself.
I think I'll stick around to see how this plays out.

Yeah, I watched the Andy Griffith Show a lot growing up, so I had the same reaction.

Then we hired Bennie Wylie as our strength and conditioning coach and all I could think of is "How do you do, Mrs. Wiley?"

It is like some grand conspiracy by our athletic department to make me have Andy Griffith flashbacks.

My first thought was: "I wonder how many people are going to say this was a stupid hire just by looking at his record at LATech." Sure enough that happened. But i was excited to see several people actually do some research to see his background, and why his record was what it was at LATech. I have to agree i didnt see us hiring him, and i was shocked when it was announced.......

My first thought was "this is probably the best UT could do given the circumstances, timing, and the fact that several others at the top of the list weren't interested." Second thought was "Could be a great hire, or could be a total bust. But at least there is potential for a home run." Third was "If CDD keeps Chaney and Thompson it could be a pretty solid staff." Fourth was "where should I go get a beer to celebrate that UT has a coach"

my first thought was man who?then when i heard his press conference i knew we had a winner then he went out and did his thang in recruiting and now i know he was born to b a vol even if his dad did coach at ga i know he's gonna b special gbo and CDD Vol forever

who the..... is Derek Dooley??!!! But after reading a few things and then seeing the presser, I was sold.... it just feels right.

Just another rumor to hide the real person we're hiring. After learning about CDD I think he is the man.

I can't lie. My 1st thought was, "Who?"

Then I was like, "Hey, I like this guy"

Now I am kind of at a, "Let's wait and see" approach......

Who!!!!!! La tech!!!!!!!! What!!!!!!! He lost how many games last season!!!!!!!! Luckily those didn't escape my mouth until I had some time to get the whole picture(wish I could say the same for many here). Then, with all the facts, I came to the conclusion that he's a good coach that we picked up a year or two before he would have hit this level of football and felt good about it. Felt even better when clt and cjc stayed....

2. That smell is most likely the Krystal's combined with Nacho Cheese Doritos. It is not the dog.
