If you had to choose, I usually do both, but if you had to choose 1

After that 71 yard TD run my McCluster yesterday, I went to the liquor cabinet, grabbed a bottle of Jim Beam, and proceeded to fix myself a drink. My fiancee walked by and said " really? your gonna drink because of a stupid football game, it's just a game, its really sad how personally you take it when the Vols lose, you're obsessed, you need help".

Now, I don't resort to drinking when the Vols lose, not every time. I'm not a daily drinker, nor do drink to solve my problems. This is not an alcoholism thread.

I love the Vols, I watch or listen to, every game and have for 24 years. When I was 16, I lost a job at a movie theater after my manager called me into work on my day off during the Florida Game, I told the crazy lady "I quit".

I schedule my Saturdays in the fall around the games, I've converted all of her family into UT fans, and I bought her an Eric Berry jersey.

Is this normal, or am I really insane? I think she's the one who is crazy. Your thoughts?

Your fiancee and my wife are using the same line, script. Mine says that I am also obsessed and to prove it she will get her mother to agree with her.

Your fine - she doesn't get it.

I think the real question here is: What in the world was she doing out of the kitchen?

You have got a fiancee that actually knows there is a kitchen. That infers that she knows how to cook, if so, you need to marry that girl.

Loose the broad. Your in for years of agony. If she is already nagging it won't get better. You can't enjoy something like football; yet, I bet she cries at stupid movies or Gray's Anatomy. Throw that back in her face. "It's sad how involved you get in these shows. You are crying about a soap opera. YOU need help". See how that goes over. I tried something similar yesterday. She comes in and starts reading her recipes and articles from a magazine out loud during the game. I asked her what she would do if I came in and started reading a magazine out loud during Grey's Anatomy.

You should have made both of you a drink, and later on it would have been legen-wait-for-it-dary. High five.

He drinks a vodka drink.
He drinks a lager drink.
He drinks a cider drink

GIT RID OF HER!!! I am old and been around. Trust me you do NOT want a high maintenance woman............... GOD NO

Can't do that, she's really hot.
Son do not EVER marry someone because she is hot. She will take all your money and leave with another guy, and repeat, repeat, repeat...........

Find a good woman that already loves the VOLS and can cook. Trust me cooking becomes important later on in your live. I really think we need to do an intervention before its to LATE!!!!

I think the real problem is that you waited too late to start drinking.

Situations like this are much easier to ignore when you are half in the bag.

Your reactions sound perfectly normal to me. Your fiance is the one who needs help. :birgits_giggle:

My fiancee tells me my screaming makes her feel like she's having a panic attack. Thought I was having a heart attack myself during the Ole Miss game...no joke and I'm only 28.

She sounds like a good one.

A dose of perspective and moderation is always a positive thing, even when it involves UT football.

I hope that you would not quit your current job if you had to work on the third Saturday in October.

There are just some things that transcend UT football; God, Family (i.e. your fiancée), and Country are among them. I think you realize this and are just looking for confirmation from a reasonable perspective.

I would have to agree, however, he's not asking if he should dump her, he's asking if he has a problem because he drinks sometimes when UT does badly, meaning he drinks when he's sad. And no, I don't think that's a problem as long as you're a happy drunk. I drank through the whole game yesterday and felt sober when it was over,,, Now THAT'S a problem... lol

Plus my wife would drink when the Vols play period, if she wasn't pregnant. She's a former UT student and the first game we went to together, she and I drank a six pack a piece in about 5 minutes and ran to the stadium from G10 so we wouldn't lose our buzz. Gosh, I love my wife. Had she been home yesterday, she would have brought me a drink everytime the rebs scored. Too bad her lame boss makes her work on sats during football season,,, lame.

Why did you start then? Should have been half way through the bottle at that point.

Sober women make worse wives. I have 3 exes. LOL.

Women are manipulative, hateful and vindictive. In the end they will bankrupt you for their own good. Women have made me poor twice in my life and I refuse to let it happen again.
