My favorite recruit is...

Curt Maggitt. I am impressed with his film. He is so fast off the edge it reminds me of LL. When have we had an edge rusher like him. It may take a couple of years but this kid will be a beast.

I am not sure I could pick a favorite at this point, but Maggitt would certainly be right up there. He is a recruit that came out of left field and is among our top recruits. In that sense, he kinda makes up for Dawson, whose loss was equally out of left field for me -- never saw it coming.

Still, Dooley and the staff did a very good job this year, considering what they had to work with. We ended with a very good class -- not great, but very good. We should all be very pleased and proud of the work the staff did for us.

Moore...athletically gifted and will contribute from day 1. Biggest reason though...he met Kiffin and left town. I love that about him.

Maggitt......Because of his speed, he has a Great frame for addidng more quality wieght, position of great need, & his versitility.

Cameron Clear...His size, and his playmaking ability, he also has great upside at multiple positions, also it is always great to snag a Memphis kid...great job by the staff.

Couch.....Absolute beast at a huge position of need, that was magnified even more by the Wright miss. I believe he is a day 1 starter as well.

I could go on, and on because I have the rest of the class as tied for 2nd favorite recruit. Maggitt is my favorite though.

Marlin Lane: My feelings about Chaney and his downright refusal to run the ball when it needs to be run are well documented on these boards. I think ML is the guy that forces Chaney's hand so to speak. He is an every down back that has homerun speed and power. He's the kind of back that can give you 25 carries and production consistently, which is what we really lack right now in the back field. A real threat at running back to go along with our passing attack and a blossoming OLine is going to be the key to our offense going forward.

Honorable Mentions: Maurice Couch and Byron Moore. I think both will start/be in the starting rotation at their position from jump street. Couch gives us a real presence in the middle that we desperately need. Moore gives us the chance to move our best player (J Jackson) around in the secondary where he can ball hawk and make plays.

We can't run because our O line sucked and T Poole ain't that special.

I'm sure Chaney would love to run the ball.

Lane, Couch, Johnson, Moore: the axis.

For my instant impact: Moore and Couch
Who has huge upside: Maggitt
Curious to see: Lane; does he get those cuts back?

Being from East Tennessee I really want Downs and Crowder to do well. Hopefully Downs will become the next Luke Stocker, and if Crowder turns out like Scott Wells I won't complain.

Favorite: Couch. Will have the best immediate impact. Also really bought in early to what Dooley was selling.

Honorable Mention: Arnett. Dude is hilarious. And a nice looking slot guy to boot.

AJ Johnson has to be #1: He is a physical specimen and will be a great BIG MLB for us. I expect him to make instant contributions to our class next year, after his Under Armour performance. Dude will be a stud.

Maurice Couch is #2: He is going to come in and immediately be our best DT. Dude is a monster inside and doesn't get enough credit. I look for him to anchor an overall improved Tennessee DL in 2011-12. Aside from favorites, he will have the biggest impact of any recruits next season.

Randolph is 3rd: He is a HARD HITTER, fast, and has good coverage skills. Plus, I think him not getting that 4th star is bs. Will see some playing time next year, but look for him to get major playing time his sophomore year.

Overall a very solid class. Marlin Lane at 100% would give this class more firepower, but it solidified our OL and turned our Secondary into one of the top ones in the SEC.

Tennessee had the best class of all the teams without a 5 star commit... bitter-sweet :)

I think Lane may provide the running type we have missed over the past few years. A bruiser with break away speed. I also think Lanier and Coleman will secure the secondary. However my favorite is Cameron Clear. Great hands and size, but can block like a tackle. I think he is a future AA and I want him to slap that 45 rating from ESPN in the face

Maggitt from a pure game changing standpoint at DE.

When was the last true speed rusher we had off the end?

I am also a big fan of Young. He is living his dream, and could provide a spark in the return game we desperately need. Also he has come to visits almost every weekend to try and help recruit. This guy has always been a vol for life.

AR - This guy has serious NFL 1st round potential.

Also Marlin Lane could be extremely explosive if he gets back to pre-injury level

Tom Smith is going to be a good player too. I really like the whole class.

I look forward to the day when freshman don't see the field because they don't need to. Unless an Eric Berry type comes along.

My favorite recruit for the moment is DeAnthony Thomas..... Haaaaa..

Seriously, when I think of this question I think of Marcus Jackson and I haven't the slightest clue why... I just like that kid...

I just can't pick a favorite right now. They are all my favorites because when and after each one of them committed to UT, not a single one of them swayed!

D. Young or Moore.

Moore - instant starter on defense and I can't stress how bad we need his speed and ability. Art Evans just wasn't getting it done and I'm glad we have some true talent back here now.

D. Young - Our own personal Rudy; but he's actually getting a shot from the beginning. I seriously think this kid will surprise a lot of folks - not only as a return guy but also some on offense.

I will be the first one to admit, I was not thrilled with our NSD commitments. HOWEVER, I wanted to start this thread for everyone to realize how many great recruits we have.
