My Daddy Won the Game!!!

Last Sunday night my Dad, a monster Vol Fan and great American, passed away from cancer. After an extremely tough week, my mom, brother and several close friends watched the game together. When late in the second half, Prince needed to make his free throws, and his first seemed to bounce around forever, my Daddy reached down from heaven and tipped it in!!:rock::rock::rock::rock:

I have no doubt of this, and my Mom and friends were screaming that "Daddy tipped it in"!!!!!

Now TN is #1 in basketball and my Dad is smiling!

The world makes some sense afterall. :thumbsup:

Our collective thoughts and prayers are with you....my Dad, a UT alum and decorated Korean War veteran, also has terminal cancer of the liver and has been given 3 more weeks himself....My Dad is pretty happy to see the Vols ranked #1 for the first time ever

Thanks Guys and I'll say a prayer for your and your Dad TN Tom.

My Dad was an Orhopaedic Surgeon for 35 years and the team physician at Greeneville High School for 34 years. He loved sports and was inducted in TN high school Football Hall of Fame along with numerous other things.

My dad and I were there when TN beat AL in the Bears final Year, we were there in 98 when we beat FL and Ark, and we were in Gainsville when we beat FL in Spuriers final year, what a guy!!

I will cherish those memories and I encourage all of you to make the most of your time with your family!!!

I live in Greeneville. Your dad was a well known and very well liked gentleman. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Sorry dude. Both of my parents have past away, one brain cancer the other breast. Keep the faith and you need to cheer twice as hard now to make up for pops being gone.

Sorry for your loss Chilmonty!!!

I wish your dad could have lasted another week to see the Vols reach #1 (which I guess he did anyway).

TennTom, I am also sorry to hear about your father's illness.

Chilmonty and TennTom, thoughts and prayers are with you and yours on the loss of your dads... I can empathize as I lost my dad a year ago Thanksgiving.. please know we are here for you....

All of you guys hang in there. I'm of the opinion that good parents never die, they just retire and let the lessons they've taught manifest themselves through their children and grandchildren.

I am very sorry to hear about your loss and I send prayers for you and your family. I think for those of us that were born and raised into our beloved VOLS...we all share special memories of classic games and moments in UT history with our Dads and for some Im sure moms. I have been to ALOT of classic games with my father as Im sure so many others have..those will always be my fondest memories. At 37 my father wont be around to much longer and I know this. I will never forget the walk to the stadium on gamedays with my dad in rain sleet or snow and what he introduced me to...ever...... and will carry on the tradition:hi:
