Ok Aaron Beasley…I’ll take my crow with a bit of hot sauce. And I’ll smile with every bite because I didn’t want him to not be good. But last year I was disappointed and I’ve been vocal about that here. 2 things…for one my greatest source of frustration with him originated when we played Kentucky. Will Levi’s owned him that day. He went over the top of Beasley for additional yardage what seemed like 39 times in that game. Realistically it was probably like 5-7 times but they all came in crucial situations. While I was super frustrated with Beasley’s lack of physicality…I also underestimated Levi’s size and strength. Having watched him a bit more he’s not the Awkward/unathletic big quarterback I thought I was seeing that day. He’s a load. So I definitely aimed my frustration completely at Beasley when some of it should have been redirected as respect for Levis.

But also, Beasley has just stepped up his game exponentially. His improvement is undeniably and he straight out looks like a stud linebacker out there. I was about as wrong as I could be about the kid and again…it makes me happy to have been wrong.

Hopefully mods leave this thread up for a bit because a handful of y’all argued with me that Beasley wasn’t as bad as I had been saying etc. So take your best shots at me. I deserve it. Hit me like Aaron Beasley hits Kedon Slovis.

I understand your frustration from last year and imo it was rightfully so. I still don't see why people think Will Levis is a first rounder

From a NFL QB mold, he fits every category. Ideal size, maybe the strongest arm in the class, and he's very mobile. That's basically the same profile as Josh Allen. Also, he's excelling with fairly average talent around him in the toughest division in college football.

I'm not saying he'll be a good NFL QB. I'm just telling you why he's getting the hype. The overall athleticism is possibly the top in this year's class. And teams are taking chances on those type of QBs recently because the upside is so high.

Well stated. In addition to the shear athletism, he maintains his composure.

If thats the case Hendon Hooker is better not only in those stats but on field stats imo

Beasley kind of got a raw deal when he came here. He was too big and slow to play safety, which is what he played in HS (and Rb for that matter). Pruitt moved him to LB his freshman year then commenced to not teaching his jack squat except that cornbread is good.

He was rushed into service last season with very little training or development due to poor LB recruiting and transfers following Cornbread. He went thru some really bad growing pains last year, but I thought he got better as the season went along. I was one of the folks defending him because I felt like if he had a couple years of good coaching, he could grow into an SEC linebacker. I also thought he would be a surprise this season.

I was finally right about something. I have taken a picture to document that so I can show my wife that I was finally right about something.

Accountability is something that's highly missing in this world. Its just a casual football statement but its nice to see someone own up to their bs instead of deflecting it onto someone else or another reason why they weren't wrong. Its life were all wrong from time to time and make Ludacris statements own it and keep it moving.

But it isn't only about on field stats. That's why Trey Lance went No 3 overall a couple years back.

Look, Hendon is great, but Levi's is most certainly a tick above him talent wise. Like I said, Levi's has probably the strongest arm in the draft. And both guys run at roughly the same speed in the 4.7 40 time range. And that isn't just my opinion, but the opinion of most talent evaluators. Also, Hooker runs an offense that doesn't translate well to NFL offenses, so he will take some time to development. He also needs to bulk up, as his current frame is very lean for an NFL QB.

That’s your opinion, it’s certainly not mine. I will let the season play out! I wouldn’t trade Hendon for Levis no way all day long!GBO!

Slovis will be on concussion protocol for weeks to come from us living in the backfield. Dont ask for something like that man….

If all they’re drafting on is 40 time and arm strength then Milton will be the first qb taken when he enters the draft?

We are not talking about the NFL, we are talking about college. Hooker is a better college QB than Levis. You can’t project from college to the pros just ask Ryan Leaf or Johnny ManzI’ll for example. So i will stick with Hooker being a better college QB and would not trade him for Levis.

I remember a thread before season about who would start beside banks, may have even been a poll. Anyway, I voted beasly, not because I didn’t think Mitchell was good but because I thought Beasley played well last season with all things considered and the kid is a dog.
