My boy Peyton!

I find myself being somewhat emotional after this game. I started thinking about why, and it truly feels like an end of an era. I'm 25 years old and have been watching Peyton for what feels like my entire life. He has always been my sports hero. I'm married, out of college, and seemingly "grown up." In the midst of all these changes, Peyton has always taken me back to my youth. Watching him always reminds me of my dad, my hometown, and of the great state of Tennessee. Sure, there will always be athletes that I enjoy watching, but there is something about that sports hero when you are a kid that you never experience again. I know I'm not the only one who is experiencing this tonight. As sad as it feels to close this chapter, I have to think how lucky we all are that we had the pleasure of watching the greatest of all time for 22 years.

Yes, it truly is the end of an era. Football just won't be the same without him.

After all those losses to Florida that were blamed on him, after all the playoff losses blamed on him, thanks Broncos for showing the world football is really a team game -- win or lose -- and lifting our man to fairy tale, Super Bowl winning ending. And please Peyton, let this be the ending.

I heard multiple talking heads this week state that they would like to see Peyton go out with a SB win, but they thought the Panthers offense was too good to stop! One guy even said they call things like this ending a "Fairytale" for a reason, they are too good to be true! Peyton is the best ever for many reasons, so the Football Gods took care of him tonight!!

GO PEYTON!!! LEAVE ON TOP!!!

I played with a lot of game speed and at the end of the day game speed is all that matters. That's why I don't agree with the 40 yard dash deciding whether you go first round or later. That doesn't decide how good of a player you are or how fast you are

This! This! & This!

Football isn't played in a T-shirt & shorts for 40 yards in a straight line. Give me football speed over 40 time any day of the week.

It's crazy when you think about where Peyton and the Broncos were on Nov 15th after losing at home to the Chiefs when he was benched for Osweiler and where they are tonight. This 2nd ring cements his legacy. The haters have run out of legitimate material and will just have to rehash the HGH crap.

Check out 19-year old Peyton, in the 1995 Vol football guide.

I love Peyton... but that Budweiser pitch on the podium while holding the Lombardi trophy was over the top. I sure hope he got paid by the millions to do that.

Being reported he was not paid. He was just making a joke or being honest.

Let's get it one more time big p!!!!!! He is one the most honorable people I will know, with a huge heart. He was the king of many Prabks and laughs, and yet so proffesional. I think he is gonna come out slinging like the good old days tonight. Everyone needs to take this super bowl in and enjoy it no matter the outcome. You are watching one of the greatest football players to ever play the game in what is more than likely his final game. The legend, the sheriff, and mr everything; Peyton manning.

What a way to end it! I enjoyed every second.

These are big words from a former player. Nice to hear that you have that respect for him.

That does make it better. It still seemed odd but I'm happy for him.

I agree it was a little strange. I wouldn't be surprised if someone like Brett Farve said that, but I've never heard Peyton mention a specific beer he was going to drink after the game. Either way, congrats to Peyton!

:) so happy for peyton and all the other VFLs!!

Gaaaahhhhh. Who on earth was that lady. The owner? That was one disturbing mixed up mess of plastic surgery, bleach blonde, and Prozac / Valium. When she had to read the name of the team that one off a note card, even Peyton and Kubiak started dying laughing.

Wow. Pure entertainment.

As I stated in another thread, it was a witty way to announce his retirement (active players aren't permitted to endorse alcohol) without taking the spotlight from his team. Class act. Poo on those that think Peyton was doing it for money or any other reason. On top of that, it was funny and humanizing.

This was what ERKED me more than anything. Peyton would score 40 points on great defenses and would get beat 45-40 and the media would say how Peyton choked again or he couldn't win a big game. Well If he would have had this defense he would have won 12 rings.
