My big problem is Butch knew Vandy was good enough to win!

So let me get this straight, we are seriously talking about actually worrying about losing to f*****g Vanderbilt? Vandy has beaten good teams all year?

Its official. We are square back in the Dooley years. Jesus.

Now you're getting it. Vandy 3 of last 5, Butch 2-2 vs Vandy = Dooley 2.0.

But Butch has a ego problem. He has not learned nothing since he started blowing games last year. Only if he was as good as he thinks he is.

You guys keep reading into everything Butch says/does with your own insecurities from the trama Dooley caused?

Now THAT's what I'm saying. :good!:
I hate the narrative that he "deserves" this, that or another. He's been richly rewarded for his time, it's the program that's not getting what it deserves.

Butch is who he is and has helped us but he's hit his ceiling.

Right. We can't expect what he can't provide. He was the same way at Cincy. He was never the kind of coach that Texas stole from Houston. Or Washington stole from Boise. He won a lot of games at Cincy but he was not brilliant. He had a lot of teams that just fell into conference championships. That was my worry when we hired him.

So your saying he has learned something? Good

Are you really calling him out on his double negative when you do this? Let me guess, spellcheck right?

I really wish I could figure out who your alter was/is, I bet there some idiotic posts on that account as well.

Pretty bad.

In the 45-34 conquest, last Saturday, Vanderbilt averaged 8.3 yards per play. The Commodores scored their most points in an SEC game since 1971. The 45 points were as many as Vandy scored against Kentucky, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida combined.

This was as bad as Dooley's KY game. I just don't see how Butch is going to turn this around.

Yea, if you actually look at it from a Vandy perspective, their team started slow but closed the season out strong...tying their season high 38 against Ole Miss one week then topping that with a new season high 45 against Tennessee the next week...[yea, I don't count the games playing FCS schools]...

I am over Vandy....that was a week ago. Time for everyone to move on.

Said Butch Jones, 3 minutes into his Vandy post-game presser.

Gotta gas-up that $225k sports car and hit the road to impress recruits / too busy to think about the Vandy game.

Injuries was certainly an issue, but the same issues were there at start of the season too.

AS did well considering the talent gap rushing against us too. VT had us till they gifted us all of the turnovers and they had to start throwing more.

Not saying Debord is great by any means but he's very acceptable compared to Shoop.

Shoop's issue isn't because of him. It's more Butch not allowing him to bring in his guys and not fully run his system.

Which is a big reason that Shoop isn't the biggest Butch fan

My problem is Vandy and USC jr. There was absolutely no ***... excuse to lose to that team after a bye week. He lost me after that game. If he shuffles his staff I can see him staying, but I have no respect for his game management and motivational capabilities.

If he would just shut up with all the Butch'isms I'd be a little happier too

They've been beating good teams all year? What?

The only two good teams they've beaten all year are 5-7 Ole Miss and wildly underachieving, undisciplined and poorly coached Tennessee team.

Otherwise, they beat MTSU, Western Ky, a bad 7-5 Georgia team, and Tennessee State.

They had a moral victories against UF and Auburn (lost only by a TD to both) iirc

Martinez made Shoop and Jancek look like Sunseri
