My big problem is Butch knew Vandy was good enough to win!

Vand has been beating good teams all year!! And losing close games! He should have knew they wouldn't give up. They needed this game to get to a bowl!! I'm just upset they acted like they won the east after they beat uga. In the past yeah that's a given. Now everyweek matters. And it's been like that for 5-6 years.

But Butch has a ego problem. He has not learned nothing since he started blowing games last year. Only if he was as good as he thinks he is.

They've been beating good teams all year? What?

The only two good teams they've beaten all year are 5-7 Ole Miss and wildly underachieving, undisciplined and poorly coached Tennessee team.

Otherwise, they beat MTSU, Western Ky, a bad 7-5 Georgia team, and Tennessee State.

Vandy was not and is not a good football team and neither was SC. We just laid a turd against two bad teams. If Butch wants to talk about owning expectations, then he along with the sunshine pumpers need to walk the talk.

Butch has been out coached in so many games. He isn't going to all of a sudden get smarter. He will be out coached as long as he is here and keep making the same bone headed mistakes. He has done it in each year and folks wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt that he was learning. We don't pay in $4M a year to learn. We pay him that much to coach up our kids and win games.

So the assumed attitude of the coach is a bigger issue to you than the lack of basic skill s of tackling and defending a pass?

What?? Negavols will tell you Vandy sux and is stuck in 1997 and is unacceptable to lose to. Or they will say Ole Miss sux and Georgia sux.

That will never happen as long as there is someone to blame and the "as long we are above .500 mentality".

Most of us called the Vandy loss whether or not butch screwed it up.


You sunshine pampers are happy we lost because we're still above .500

Now THAT's what I'm saying. :good!:
I hate the narrative that he "deserves" this, that or another. He's been richly rewarded for his time, it's the program that's not getting what it deserves.

Butch is who he is and has helped us but he's hit his ceiling.

History doesn't support your thesis. Every good to great coach has some average to terrible years and suffered some astounding losses before they became legendary .

On the flip side , he may never be a great coach ....but there is no way to know that from the small sampling
