I know that every coach does stuff like this but on the Vol walk right when they make the right turn to go down the hill that led to Gate 21 is where we were standing. There was a handicapped you child in a wheel chair almost on the corner where the team turns. Coach Kiff Walked by then stopped and went back to spend 15-20 seconds with the child and father his father before moving on. It really had an affect on me. Right after that he headed down our way and shook my hand and my father always said you could judge a man by the way he shakes your hand, and it was a firm one with eye contact the way I was taught to do it. Go Lane...GO VOLS!!!

although i don't know kiff personally, he really does seem like a good guy from what i've read and stuff. when he was with the raiders, this reporter was asking a question and some raider admin guy just cut him off and started talkig but then lane stoppped him and answered the reporter's question. later in the week, lane apologized to the reporter even though he wasn't at fault, he just apologized on the raiders' behalf.

You know what's funny, is fans of other teams, or even Al Davis could turn that around and say it's a negative thing. Some BS like, "He should speak for our administrators like that. He doesn't have the authority...just another example of Kiffin's arrogance...blah blah blah..."

People take anything that Kiffin says and always try to turn it into something negative.:boxing2:

Coach Kiff wasn't the only one that paid special attention to the handicap person, I was standing right there, and many of the players made special attempt to high five him, I think it was great and says alot about the character of many of these guys. It had to be difficult with the crowd and stuff to have to push that wheelchair around campus, so I hope that moment made it worth it for him.

Well, of course the Pope is not God, but the Pope is supposed to be divinely appointed by God. Not so sure Kiffin went through the same screening process.

No worries, it's been reported he did take the test and passed before he took his new job as the Pope's boss.

I believe he missed the one about 'covet they neighbor's wife' since he had never heard of such a thing

Unless you are not Catholic. Then the pope is just a man at the top of a large bureaucracy, appointed by his peers, from among his peers. Much less dramatic and inspiring.

This thread is going to Hell, but who cares. I'll add more fuel to the fire:

You guys have it all wrong. The pope is appointed by Rod Wilks.:p

After the two and a half hours in line.I get the coaches poster signed and this was the conversation.

"Welcome aboard Coach".
"Thanks".

I had a black Muscle tee on.Showing my guns.He was looking at my white hair,my arms,my hair.I sad,"good luck Coach". He replied "The arms yes". "The black no", and Grinned big.

Right after Kiffin shook the kids hand he got up out of the wheel chair and walked away!! Amazing

Cool story to hear.

I knew the Rod Wilks part was coming as I read through the thread :)

Still a good thread, although a bit off topic now :)

Yeah, I pretty much expected it to happen immediately following the post that said "why would he be struck by lighting? the pope isn't God."
