It is also pretty classless when our student section boos the other team when they come onto the field. I know that other schools do it, but it just fires up the visiting team when they get booed.

The real purpose of playing the fight song for the visitors is to get them riled up a little before we bring Rocky Top down on them. That contrast is pretty defeating if you think that you are making some noise in Neyland and then the house comes down.

I heard Fred White and Terry Fair discussing on the radio that we should make our band stop playing the other team's fight song in our pregame, but it is a tradition, unlike black jerseys, that should remain in our gameday forever. As the UCLA fans said, we do things right here and with Kiffin in a couple of years it will be even better.

i totally concur with everyone's sentiments....its a great thing when we reach across to other fans in true sportsmanships. My aunt and uncle are the same way when an opposing team fan sits beside them. They are always very gracious, win or lose. It says so much about us as VOLS fans! Go Big Orange!

While I hate losing with a passion, I like to hear respect from other fans, great post, and i'm glad not everyone thinks we are rednecks.

But I never saw it that way, I looked at it on the positive side something most people need to do in life instead of harping on the negative's and by me doing that it turned out POSITIVE! If I had looked at it the my my Mother and some friends did, this story would have never happened!

I made a new friend and the Vol Nation made a new friend from over 2000 miles away and that is something $$$ cant buy!

Believe it or not reading that story made my day. Thank you! It just go to show you that sometimes that small gestures like this could mean so much to someone else. You have made a friend and the VOLS have picked up a new fan. I love being a VOL!

Anyway if anyone runs across a good deal on Colts Seahawks tickets let me know...I promised my son I would take him for his birthday and it has sneaked up on me. And I am strapped for cash..but if its a deal I can swing it.

So keep your ears open!!
