Musk wants to build spaceships

We should be asking how much tax payer funding of any kind , from any agency , he’s received so far . I’d be really curious to know .

I read where Tesla has improved the $/Kwh efficiency of the batteries so much that they can be profitable without the subsidies, none of the other EV car makers are remotely close to getting down to $100/kwh. The 100/kwh is where the battery reaches parity with gasoline engines without subsidies. I just bought a new car (Q5) and though I looked at ev's, my next one will almost certainly be one.

That’s what we did for most of the day yesterday . The crossovers are hot right now , you can’t swing a cat without hitting one here in Norfolk . I hope by the time we look at getting another one they will have worked out all the kinks with the batteries . If he ( Musk) can just figure out a way to shrink the size just a little more and still deliver the power and fuel economy , he can ( probably will ) flood the market with all thing Tesla .

I think if he can get 400-450 miles of battery life and squeeze it into a <$40k car it'd be hard not to pull the trigger on that provided the QC stayed consistent. I looked at the Audi e-tron and the Tesla Model Y, I'm just not ready to make that leap psychologically, I'm getting there though...

If you count the essentially free shipping he gets from the post office, i guess that's tax payer funded. I forgot what deal he has but it comes to a nice deal for him

I think you are spot on with those numbers . If they could get somewhere around those numbers and put it in a small crossover for somewhere between 30-40k .. he would be the next Ford .

I think you're confusing musk with bezos.

Yeah, as more and more chargers spring up around the country it'll be even easier. Eventually I'd wager that inductive chargers are common place, like the Qi phone chargers, but for cars.

I have seen some at bigger convenient store but they seem to be really far apart on interstates . When we see Pilots / flying J’s setting rows of them up , it will be no turning back then .

We gotta speed up space travel I know I’m not expecting us to hit Warp drive or light speed but we need to find some means of a faster fuel source so we can get to Mars quicker than 6 months and other places in our galaxy.

Started looking at getting a Model 3 myself, but a coworker said when he got a loaner while his was being repaired, he got a S and said it was nicer with more space. New BMW i4 looks promising too for next year.

I'll bet that BMW is going to be nice but very expensive. When I was shopping last month at Audi, I got a little chub looking at the e-tron. It was beautiful, but the specs compared to Tesla weren't even in the same ballpark. I'll bet it's going to take a while for the manufacturers to catch up with Teslas technology.

The S is very nice. It's also nearly $100,000 for the long-range model.

The article I read estimated they’ll price about $50k, but I don’t think they could price it that cheap based on the looks of it.

Can't I just install a tow hitch, and tow a diesel generator on a small trailer to provide constant power?

Why? How about putting the astronomical amount of money that will cose into, I dont know, helping things and the people of Earth?

I'm thinking very seriously about getting a 3.
Watch the TFLcar series on YouTube where the owners son backs one into the door frame and does what looks like minor damage. It took months and cost probably 5 times what a normal car would have cost to fix.
