you guys need to do the research...calhoun had MULTIPLE stops before air force and the triple option - he has run pro style offenses in the past. I am sure he would do the same here - service acadamies love the triple option because it requires disiplined personel, not 5 star athletes.

Geez, people don't listen.

Calhoun would NOT RUN THE OPTION HERE. He was an offensive coordinator in the NFL for Houston, how many times did you see it being ran there? He was an OC for Wake Forest earlier in the decade, they ran the ball a lot but it wasn't the option offense.

SERVICE ACADEMY = OPTION
SEC = PRO-STYLE

He doesn't carry around a triple option playbook with him, he just knew the best offense to fit Air Force when he took the job would be the option. Simple as that.

The triple option is the LEAST of our worries. We wouldnt have any decent players to run it. There is not 1 16, 17, or 18 yr. old urban kid in America that has even heard of Calhoun. He has NO street cred with these kids. We would have a bunch of white boys running running 4.9 40's...at RB, and WR!

There is a lot of dumb in this thread.

Muschamp is a UGA guy. That is his dream job. IF he's hired as UT's coach, Texas is done with him.

Calhoun is not an option guy. He's been running pro style offenses at every place he's been other than Air Force.

Holy Crap! Finally a voice of reason. I am not Calhoun's number one fan but people have to realize he is not bringing the option to UT if he comes. Do a little research people.

How is a fact racist?! Do you even know what racism is?? Just pointing out the obvious is not a racist comment...have you seen Air Force's team??? White boys running a 4.9 on our football team is not racist, it's scary...especially when u play in the SEC.

Here is the way I look at it. The era of the long term coaches is no longer the common thing. Coaches are going to come and go more frequently than they did in the Fulmer era. Mac Brown isn't going any where anytime soon. Would you if you were bringing 5M a year???? I think if we could get WM for 3 - 5 years we would be better off for it. Also the Georgia head coaching position is going to come open before the Texas position is available and since WM is from Georgia I would be more worried about losing him to Georgia in the near future rather than Texas. Just my opinion though and honestly it ain't worth much.

Give him what it takes. Maybe Hammy learned about out clauses after this....He did a good job at Auburn and other places and knows the SEC....That is so important...
