You do realize that Calhoun was the OC of the Houston Texans before taking the AF job. Pretty sure the triple option hasn't been in the NFL for a few decades.

Yeah, I'd be more surprised if the press conference is to announce that he's leaving Austin. Remember, a rumor ran wild across the net that Muschamp was leaving Texas for Auburn before Chizik got hired.

Honestly, I can take him or leave him. He's the flavor of the month right now. Not sure I want our next coach getting OJT during year one. I'd really like Patterson. Wouldn't mind Edsall. Or maybe Kevin Sumlin. Al Golden, maybe.

One thing that I'm certain of is that I don't want anyone connected to Fulmer. This is the perfect opportunity for some to proclaim that UT needs to retreat back to hiring within the "family", but I'd be even more irate than I am now if I woke up tomorrow to see that we've got Cutcliffe.

I like Muschamp. But I think the TN job is above someone with no head coaching experience. Let Muschamp coach a mid level team and he's successfull there then give him $5 mill to come to TN. How many times do we hear about a great coordinator when actually its the head coach thats great.

I hear ya,...we needed this guy last year instead of an immitation coach. Never wanted that whiny little douche bag, but Hamilton stopped taking my calls in Aug. so he didn't care what I thought.

Anybody that suggests Troy Calhoun would be a good hire is crazy. You want to talk about an offensive debacle, picture Tyler Bray running the Triple Option. Uh.. I do not think so.

Considering the reports that Hamilton was caught with his pants pulled down it is probably safer to assume that the posters on rivals who claim some closeness to the AD saying he's not going any where (or even been contacted) are right.

Seriously, who says this. I have no inside information, but there is such thing as agreeing to principal over the phone which now-a-days is available on a plane.

BTW, I have served two combat tours in Iraq and I can honestly say that I hate Lane, his dad, and Ed more then anyone I encountered overseas. I can, will, and should kick their arse if they ever show their face in Knoxville. And yes I include his dad and Ed on that, even though I would need one of my bigger Devil Dogs for O.

Texas seems to think he's pretty good. I mean they basically made him the HC in waiting to Mack Brown.

I would very much like to get this guy...or heck someone

however espn only saying we're targeting and not saying that he's holding a press conference makes me feel uneasy, like he's just holding one to say "I'm staying at Texas"

I would love it if we could Muschamp......Speaking as a fan, do you guys know how boring the Triple Option would be to watch????? I'm not down for that.....Muschamp has SEC ties, if he's ready to come I think he is our best chance

Muschamp will not be a Vol!

Muschamp has never mentioned UT as a job of interest. Texas will pay him and he'll be HC there in 2 years!
