I will be shocked if this happened. Hamilton got a phone call about 7:30pm tonight from Kiffin....that's when he found out. There is no way Mustchamp knew this afternoon.

A Texas mod said he was hearing it was a done deal at about 12:30 ET. Texas fans now believe he'll stay. I guess we'll find out in the morning.

I can't see Muschamp leaving Texas. Texas is in the process of adding on to their stadium to be the largest in the US, something like 112,000. Plus Texas, right now, doesn't have the NCAA all over them like we do. He'd be crazy to leave Austin.

If he's calling a press conference this close to "Lames" press conf. then the logic is he's reaffirming his commitment to Texas. Not enough time for hamilton to vent and interview and even at the 11th hour I don't see Hamilton able to pull off a getting new H.C in less than 24hrs.

The question is when did Hamilton know about this but considering USC was still looking a few days ago it's a small window to find, offer, finalize details and sign. Damm I'm still pissed...:realmad:

At this point, I am too far into shock to think straight. I don't think Muschamp will be hired. After this fiasco, I don't have confidence in anyone.

All the Kiffen-haters (yes, I I spelled it incorrectly on purpose, as I will always from now on) were right on this one. I didn't like this guys style or tactics, but I honestly thought he was just being aggressive and doing what he thought was right in order to get the program back to where it should be. Man, was I wrong.

The rumors about them recruiting for USC while they were still in Knoxville doesn't surprise me a bit at this point. Monte jumping ship is understandable (blood is thicker than water), but after all that talk from him, too, about how great a place Tennessee is, his integrity is in the can, too.

I will hate USC and Kiffen until the day I die.

I just don't see Will Muschamp being a good coach here. I'll have to wish him the best of luck if he comes, but I wish he would just stay in Texas. I understand the we have to hire someone and quick stuff, but really? Muschamp?

I think Mack Brown has a contract thru 2016 and he is only 57...If I were WM, it's now or never for me!

I totally agree, Mustchamp will say he's not a candidate. Hamilton found out btwn 7pm-7:30pm tonight, no earlier. I don't normally have sources, but on this one I do. Hamilton is still in shock...

un not buying this......U wish we would go after gruden and if we cant get him them go after peterson....if we hire the dude from air force im going to jump into the tennessee river...

Hamilton is on a plane right now...I seriously doubt he has offered anybody the job until he at least lands....Crazy how this rumor stuff gets thrown around so quickly

I like Muschamp. Could be great for UT. I hope this rumor is true for all our sakes.

What do you guys think about Utah's coach Kyle Whittingham?
