I personally think that would be a terrible idea. Fulmer lost it as a championship type coach and let the program die from laziness and neglect. Why reward that??

Calhoun is an equally terrible idea -- triple option, 'nuff said.

Any head coach of a top tier program would be leaving his school in the same recruiting lurch we now find ourselves in -- do we really want a HC that would do what clk just did to us?? I think not.

If not Muschamp, or a very short list of qualified assistant coaches, I think the only viable options are either a pro retread or Kippy Brown. Personally, the more I think about Kippy, the better I like the idea. His credentials as a coach and a motivator are impeccable.

Just my opinions, though.

You really need to do some research. First, Fulmer would be an excellent AD. You want an AD that loves his school and will do anything for it, and thinks it is the best job that exists. Fulmer fits all of those areas. Rather or not "he lost it" as a head coach, would in no way translate how he would be as an AD. Anyway, Hamilton isn't going anywhere, so this is all rumor.

For the Calhoun perspective he was a coach with the Denver Broncos and Houston Texans before the Air Force job. If anything, he is multi-dimensional in his offense, and is not just "triple-option enough said". He is running that at Air Force b/c that is what they run historically.

It is funny to me how all the Fulmer haters out there are surprised that this young, arrogant coach, would kick us in the nuts and run away. You want a coach with loyalty yet you still bash Fulmer who was the most loyal coach we have ever had at UT. I think it was time for him to go as well, but to be surprised that daddy's little punk spurned us for greener pastures is crazy. Fact of the matter is that Little Monte realized he couldn't win consistently in the SEC and ran off to a conference that he knew he could win in.

I say throw what you can a Muschamp, if it takes the kitchen sink, promote L. Thompson to DC, and Kippy to OC, and let's go.

Muschamp has told us no thanks, reportedly. Gruden as told us no, check the links. Calhoun has reportedly told his AD that he plans on taking the job if offered to him. I thought Muschamp would be the guy, but it appears more and more to be either Kippy or Calhoun, both of which I would be content with as the next HC.

Sporting news and CBS Sports has already posted that Gruden said no lastnight to Hamilton. What I've read is Muschamp hasn't said no, but he is happy where he is unless a perfect job came open.....who knows, I like Patterson and his defense he brings year 2 year

The other thing I posted hasn't been proven wrong. And I apologized for this, I didn't have it finished and hit the wrong key and the board hung up on me and I couldn't fix it.

For what it is worth a source of mine that is very close to Jimmy Sexton is telling me that a deal has been agreed upon in principle that will make Will Muschamp the new head coach at The University of Tennessee.

DUDE, do some research......he was a coach with both the Broncos and Texans before Air Force. He is only runnin gthe Triple Option their b/c they have the athletes. He runs a multi dimensional offense.......

I know I am not a big poster and for that reason no one really has any reason to believe me but I can tell you that this guy has been 100% correct on these matters.

I will tell you that I got a call from this guy at about 6:45 yesterday telling me that Kiffen was gone.

they corrected it afterwards I believe to UT's Board (of directors maybe?) getting in touch with Fulmer to speak about either HC or AD

Doug Matthews was on the radio at 2:30 and said he had spoken to Fulmer and he has not been contacted by anyone. So everyone chill......

i wouldnt be surprised; this late in the offseason and so close to signing day you take what you can get...and in this case there isn't that much you can get in less than 2 weeks

I was thinkin that we get Muschamp as a hc and Kirby Smart as the dc. And maybe Clawson or Kippy as oc. I know Smart sounds crazy but we could give him more than Bama cause he gets a little less than 1 million and if i remember right we gave Monte about 2 million!
