I think this is a bad hire. They could've done better. IMO this is good for TN

Muschamp has alot of connections to coaches in the SEC, would like to see who he fills his staff with.

No offense or anything, but don't you think the rest of the SEC coaches were saying the exact same thing when we hired Coach Dooley ? I mean honestly, I'd be willing to bet over 50% of us had to search who Derek Dooley was or where he was coaching before coming to UT. I'm all vol just like everyone else is, but it's not like Florida went out and hired some nobody.

Go Vols!

He is a good recruiter, but I think this is good for UT. Better they get Muschamp than Mullen IMO.

I am excited over this hire lol. I was dreading the Mullen hire big time but this one makes me smile.

I like it. As a UT fan it's better than Mullen or Strong imo

I think Urbie got a lot of credit, when it was his assistants who helped him get his championships (along with Tebow). I was most afraid of Mullen, but either of these coaches look from the outside like they would have been excellent hires.

Now, it seems that Fla will be starting from scratch schemewise. He hasn't been a head coach has he? It doesn't appear to generate a lot of confidence or support.

Also, if he hires some coaches off of other teams, it could cause a lot of upheaval elsewhere in the SEC as well (good for us). Given their choices, I don't see how this is good for them. Chisik proved a lot of people wrong (so far), so Muschamp could too, but I did not see Fla as needing to take a big chance like this. I like the hire.:p

nobody started shaking when we hired Dooley so that means nothing. Muschamp is an unknown as a HC, so yeah I think it's better for us more so than Mullen going back for sure. Only time will tell

I think the chances of us beating UF next year just went up IMO.
.

I agree. A step above Zook but I am surprised. They could have had anyone for the most part. Go back to Dooley's presser when he was hired. Talking about being a Head Coach vs an assistant, "The hundred things, the thousand things that I have done at Tech has prepared me for this job". Surprised they hired an assistant coach.

If Dana is his target at OC then this is a good hire imo. UF needs his fire in the program t weed out the problems.
