Muschamp fired

ESPN cites Spurrier, Mullen, and Bob Stoops on the list. No way it's Spurrier, he hates the AD, fire Foley perhaps Spurrier would come back, but he's old, want that challenge again? Mullen, how could he say no and bad for the Vols, he is an excellent coach and with Florida being a recruiting paradise he'd wildly succeed down there. Stoops is just not that great a coach, hope he gets the job!

Spurrier will retire from Carolina so no shot there, Stoops hates the push back from OU fans I don't think he could handle UF and then there's Dan Mullen even though he has them playing well let's be honest State is a mid level coaching job for football I think he will run from there given the chance

What about Mike Shanahan? There was an article released last week that said he would be interested in coaching at Michigan or Florida. He and Foley are buddies, I believe.

I could see Rich Rod taking the job. I don't think Graham will leave Arizona St. His wife apparently wanted him to take the job out there so she could be closer to and help care for her parents. Mullen is someone that will probably get a serious look (as he will from Michigan as well) but I'm not sold on him leaving Mississippi St. The talk is that Dak will be back next year and they've got a very good recruiting class coming in. Spurrier? I don't see it at all. When he steps down at USCe, he's done for good. Harbaugh? The only college job he would even consider is Michigan.

It would be kind of shady for Mullen to do that to 31 commits and a top 10 RC

It wouldn't be shady, it would be smart. That is if his goal is to win the SEC and national championship. He can't sustain what he has at state.

It's doubtful Stoops comes to Gainesville.

That said, to suggest he's "not that great a coach" is absolute nonsense.

depends on how it's described. Is he that great of a coach right now? No, he's not. All time is he? Absolutely. Average Stoops (aka Bob Stoops now) and UF could still be a dangerous combo, but I agree that Stoops has said no for so long, he's not changing now.

Also, it's worth noting that Rich Rod's daughter is a freshman cheerleader at 'Zona. He might stay for family. And to bring this full circle, talk about someone who is not that great a coach, see Rich Rod.

Why would it be shady?

selling MSU and then leaving -- look what happened to the nice class Kiffin had recruited before he bailed on UT -- why would any parents trust him ? In any case MSU, isnt as high pressure as UF - If I was him I would stay put, UF wants wins now - it took him awhile to build MSU - will UF wait 2-3 years ? He seems like to nice of a guy for UF anyway ( I know he was an assistant there but that isnt as high profile as the HC)

Saw an article on the internet and heard it from a Gator fan at church this morning that a decision would be made today. That was pretty fast from hearing it this morning. Thought it would possibly happen from what happened in the last 1:30 in yesterday game against South Carolina. Gators had a 7 point lead with less than 4 minutes left and ready to kick a FG. It was blocked and SC recovered but then had to kick back to Florida. Gators were 3 and out and had to punt with under a minute left. The punt was blocked. Play of the game for SC and they scored to tie game to send to OT. Bad for the Gators-their demise! Ah!

Well, on the bright side at least Muschamp didn't have to face the disgrace of not being able to ride the team bus back to the campus.

That was likely one of the most glorious off field moments in the history of college football.

I don't think that Mullen leaves Miss State. I think it's funny that karma came back around on the dummy, but it kinda sucks because Florida as much as I hate them is a quick turnaround school. If they bring in a legit coach they will be playing some good ball again sooner than later.

It's the difference in a competent AD and someone like Mike Hamilton. He's righting the ship before it completely sinks unlike what happened to us.
