Muschamp Bad Blood: Anyone Else Offended?

I don't think coaches look at how nice the people are before taking a job, otherwise Gene Chizik would have quit right after getting of the plane in Opelika.

Everything you mentioned is subjective, and can be argued either way. Kudos to you for saying as much.

That said, Florida's recent history in the eyes of a HS junior or senior is superior to Tennessee. Florida has better high school talent than Tennessee. On the field Florida's had the upper hand over Tennessee over the course of a potential 2011-12 recruit's lifetime. This can't be argued.

Whether or not things stay that say, who knows?

Can't argue with any of this. I want to, but I can't. Damn you!

I have written this before but just to restate. Dooley is where he wants to be and will be here until fired or tires of coaching. If unsuccessful, he would step down rather than hold the program back. He will not leave for another program. Everything he has ever done in coaching was done to prepare himself for a HC job in the SEC and now he is one. NFL will never be a consideration. He is a college coach.

All of this recruiting buzz got me thinking about our recruitment of a coach last year. Don't get me wrong, I am extremely happy with Derek Dooley and staff, but doesn't it make you PO'ed that Muschamp turned us down flat out, and then inked to coach Florida, pretty much a slap in the face to our program if you ask me. I will be particularly elated WHEN we beat the snot out of them next year because of this fact.
:loco:

I never wanted him here, and glad that he went where he did. Can't wait to own those clowns.

Memphis is a basketball town. Take that area out, and you have almost no premier basketball recruits in Tennessee - that's every year.

Obviously Memphis produces a lot of the best football players too, but even taking out Memphis, the rest of Tennessee does produce a few football recruits heavily recruited by the top 25 programs every year. The same can not be said of basketball. There is one guy outside of Memphis every few years.

That's not to say Memphis isn't part of Tennessee. Only that the Memphis area is an absolute high school basketball talent mecca that doesn't reflect a trend with the rest of the state in either basketball or football.

False. Kendra Johnson from Lewisburg (Marshall Co.) # 86 2011. Casey Prather #35 2010. John Jenkins is from Station CAmp in Gallatin. Michael Bradley Tyner Academy went to UConn. #9 PF in 2012, Jarnell Stokes goes to Northeast in Clarksville. 4 star Shannon Hale goes to Science Hill HS. There is other talent in the state. The point is that TN has more premiere talent in basketball than football.

:loco You take into account where both teams were last year with all the talent Flordia had this year and where Tennessee was last year and that's why he took Fla. I am glad Muschamp did not take the Tennessee job. I am happy Dooley is our coach and where we are headed. We will pass the Gators soon. Just wait and see.:clapping:

Muschamp could have kissed my ass when he was at Texas. Now he can put a bullet in his head for all I care.

Also, on another note, Urban Meyer signed a deal with ESPN to do play-by-play. Maurice Jones Drew was right, Urban is a quitter.

Funny how now he is a clown, but so many Vol fans wanted him last year.

It's history boys. He lived in Florida for 10 years, more specifically in Gainesville about 5 miles from the stadium..

The fact is Florida is a better job than Tennessee, and most level-headed Vol fans completely understand this concept.

Ah, yes. Central Florida in the summer (April-Oct). Brings back such vivid memories. I was trapped there for 5 years. The sand that folks there call "dirt", the weeds growing a foot a minute while everything else is brown, the stinkwater sprinkling on the lawns, the 100% humidity, the sweat rolling down your body, the sea turtle-size cockroaches or poison all over the house (your choice), 100 miles from any breeze, 95 degrees in the shade and 96 degrees out, the triple sized electric bills, the tasty substance coming out of your tap (visitors - "you drink this?"), the biting insects in the brazillions that are signaled by ole scratch at dusk to "come on out and drink blood". Central Florida. I remember a lot more, but I give props to those who can live there and like it if they've ever been somewhere livable. They are very adaptable folks.

I'm not offended at all, although I think jumping ship like he did says a lot about Muschamp that isn't very good.

He's coaching Florida, and the only thing I care about Muschamp is hoping that he loses early, and often. But I wish that for any gator coach.

Using logic to make your point? Are you sure you're a gator? :p

Again, some people may prefer the lifestyle (or lack thereof) of Auburn. As for the rest of your post, I don't know what you guys are doing down there in the swamp, but up here we do not hire HS juniors and seniors to coach football.

We hire grown men to do that job. Grown men with wives and families who care about things other than football. There are many factors that go into choosing a place to live and work. Most of them do not actually involve the opinions of high school kids.

There are hundreds of college football head coaches out there. All of them want to be at a top program. Out of hundreds of football programs there are maybe 15-20 that could historically be considered "top". Michigan, Nebraska, Notre Dame, USC, Alabama, Tennessee, and of course Florida (among others). Florida is best in your opinion. Tennessee is best in mine. Others have their own opinions as well.

I think we need to look for a different reason to hate Muschamp.. hopefully we won't hate him for success.

If anything we should thank him.. If he would have came to TN we wouldn't have gotten Dooley.
