Muschamp as DC?

we will know/if cbj gets it.. if thigpen leaves for/a lateral move/then u know/cbj doesnt get it.. dools-staff left in droves.. so if people start leaving other than best staff.. oh no..

sunshine sheep u can only hold on for/so long.. u guys were saying the/same thing with dools n how/did that turn out..

rec is great but no one has sign loi yet.

losing to vandy is like kent with dools.. no freaking excuse ever..

Ya really good idea man.. I mean firing people has worked so well for us so far right? You do realize that a majority of this staff has been together for quite a while too?

I don't really look at it as "firing", it's more of a :good!: "hiring".

Well seems like Muschamp will be in market soon for a job and could definitely use a new DC ..do we go after him ?

Bajakian I have mixed feelings ..I loved his style and imagination while at Cincy ..but last few games he looked flat as hell ..once down he seems to go into his shell..

Who is a good OC in Market ??

:eek:hmy: If u would've been at Neyland when Florida beat us and he climbed the "band ladder thing" and lead them in their fight song. That was last year. I would just as soon as him end up coaching in Hawaii...

This is a 3 year rebuild minimum now. no if ands or buts. It will take 3 years to get the next 2 classes strong enough mentally and physically as a whole to compete in the SEC.

When Worley went down so did our legitimate chances to win. Dobbs just isn't ready yet. I'm not sure if he will ever be a good SEC QB, but he is not ready to play in this league. Barring a miraculous turnaround from Peterman, Dobbs, or Ferguson, Worley will be the starter next year.

Butch is not changing any coaches. someone could get a better offer and leave but Butch likes his guys

Might be the most troubling thing I've seen all weekend, and that's saying a lot.

Year Two has to show DRAMATIC improvement then despite less talent. It might not all be in the W - L columns, but we had better look like a more complete team.

We have no depth right now. Another coaching change would just set us back more...
Really? Auburn replaced their whole staff this year and they seem to be doing fine.

I'd rather us roll out the red carpet with a fat offer to Stanford's DC. They don't have any more talent/speed, overall, than what we had (on defense), but you can clearly see them playing like a well-coached unit...and they've beaten Oregon 3 times in a row, I believe.

People on here do not understand that. Hell they want jones fired.
Don't know many who feel that way...however, there are plenty who want/expect CBJ to live up to his promise....to field "the best staff in America." Cause this year CLEARLY showed...THAT STAFF.....wasn't with him in Cincinnati.

Yes I agree and the fact that no one else has hired Shannon should be enough evidence that he is not a elite DC and is probably damaged goods at this point in his career.
Don't know about that. It takes coaching to get talent to perform up to their potential. See Janzek and Martinez as examples of having gobs of rich homestate talent and still not getting it done.

Some of it might be the fact that he was a HC for such a stretch that some see him as being too far removed from his last experience as a DC. Some might also be wary of hiring a coach that might do well for them and quickly bail on them for the next HC gig.

It happens in all kinds of professions. You can be immensely qualified for a position, but if the prospective employer thinks you'd leave at the first opportunity, you ain't getting the job.

Cutcliffe is a good example of a HC horndog. Fulmer knew he'd jump at the first thing that moved...and true enough, that's what he did...left Fulmer in a bind, and even fired because the offense struggled mightily since he left.

Go throw the bank at the chief..
Nah. He looks better where he is cause he has all that homsestate La talent falling in his lap each year. Here, he'd have to recruit hard for that kind of talent. Chavis never was one to do much recruiting, himself, when he was here...and that was part of his problem.

The athletic department will not have the money to fire another head coach and replace him, and his staff, with the type of staff that will live up to the standards of some on here, such as yourself.

It's not sunshine pumping to understand the situation from an economic standpoint. The reality is that the UT athletic Department, along with the fan base, has made their bed and must now lie in it.

Defense is not the problem. The offense is the problem.

-Western KY scored 20.
-Oregon scored 59.
-Florida...FLORIDA scored 31.
-South Alabama scored 24.
-Bama scored 45.
-Mizzou scored 31.
-Auburn scored 55.

Even after including a stat-padding shutout against Austin Peay, our defense gives up an average of 30 points per game over the 11 games they've played so far.

I agree that the offense is not where it needs to be, but you can't say our defense isn't the problem.

We should hire a new DC for EACH GAME. That would be so awesome.
