Here at home, we allow our police to pick at people and mess with them just because they may have some reefer or a gun or a busted taillight.

Overseas, we send our military halfway around the world to impose freedom on people that don't want us there or poke fights with other countries that have nuclear weapons.

In our neighborhoods, we even have HOA's that dictate what you do on your property.

'Muricans just can't seem to mind their own business... and it is going to end up being the death of us.

Our government and it's whore media keeps us occupied with left versus right and black versus white....divide and conquer.

You'd think a country with well over 300 million could harvest some jewels when it comes to statesmen or leaders, but instead we are left to choose between two corrupt clowns..

This country is out of control on so many fronts and it won't get better anytime soon with the choices we have(not choices really)..

Whoever wins the White House will be not bring about change. They will be placed there to keep things the same...

The death of us? LOL. You seem to imply that this is some kind of new occurance. We have always done these types of things and always will. No politician is ever going to change anything. America will continue to do what is has done and be fine. Just accept it and stop with the doom and gloom.

Think about what our citizens would do about the current situation in this country without mass distraction and air conditioning.

Hard to disagree with that.

As long as folks remain reliant on the idiot box and mainstream sources to get their daily doses of "truth"; nothing will change, the best candidates will be buried, our freedoms will continue to erode, and fear/misdirection will rule the day.

How can the masses become enlightened when 90% of what they consume is controlled by elite interests who want all to remain ignorant?

Good news. One of these is easily avoidable. Don't buy a house where there's a HOA.

Today on the front page of the USA Today the headlines were "NATO nations ducking the check"...with only 5 members...the US, UK, Greece, Poland and Estonia meeting the required threshold of 2% of their economic output devoted to defense..

The US share of total NATO defense spending increased over the past year, from 71.9% to 72.3%...approximately 600 billion US tax dollars goes to arm Europe and pressure the boogeyman and nuclear armed Russia..

Two things people need to see here....one, NATO is not a DEFENSIVE alliance. It is an American ran OFFENSIVE tactic to put pressure on Russia with the end game forcing regime change in a land abundant with natural resources.....MONEY!

Two, is that Russia and ISIS are fabricated boogeyman in order to rape the American people of trillions and trillions of tax payer dollars....MONEY!

How anyone can't see how corrupt our government and media are is beyond me...

Well stated. It seems like sticking our nose in our neighbor's business, domestically and internationally, has been America's calling card for a while now. We've seen the blowback internationally. We're seeing how being team America world police has been a terrible strategy. Domestically, we're still for the most part willing little pawns and accept the absurdities forced upon us in the name of safety or whatever justification used at the time to limit your freedoms.

HOA's are needed because most people are scumbag slobs with zero pride of ownership. Ever lived in a neighborhood without an HOA that lets multiple families move into single family homes? It ain't pretty.

for whom?

Us? still making more money than we ever were before. to take a line from Watchmen: "what happened to the American dream?" "What happened to it? It came true." should we scale back? absolutely. but terrible it is not.

The world as a whole? every major statistic says otherwise. numbers of wars and deaths of all kinds are down. prosperity is up. etc etc.

The ME? I have a hard time arguing this, but it hasn't really gotten all that worse over there. difference is they have started exporting their inter-tribal warfare to the world. did we cause it, sure for the sake of argument. but again it hasn't gotten worse.

Some people are certainly prospering from interventionist policies. I'm not sure an argument for most of us prospering from it is that sound because the same or better could be achieved in the free market without needing to involve ourselves in conflicts we have nothing to do with.

free markets don't work. Why do you think we created the great governments we have today?

blue font on one of those words in the second sentence, btw.

That is true. I lived in an HOA, but moved because of the turmoil and pettiness in the neighborhood, not an inability to live by the rules.

Yep don't have weed, it's currently illegal. Fix your tail light because it can be a hazard to other drivers, don't move to neighborhoods with HOA rules if you can't keep your house up or follow the rules.

As far as us going into other countries and imposing our will, that's a sensitive subjunctive but can be argued with great points for and against.

Relax... I am totally aware of this.

The point is that even if you choose these neighborhoods, they can get out of hand. There are countless cases where HOAs get ridiculous.
