Murfreesboro hit and run caught on camera

My sister in law was run over on the Pellissippi bridge a few years ago, and the driver kept going. That was the lady's 2nd hit and run, so she's now in jail.
Stuff like this is disgusting.

Helpful that it was caught on video. But what is the point of the recording video camera?

God, cyclists need to stay on the sidewalk!

A group of my friends were intentionally hit by some douche in a new Camaro (all muscle car drivers are douches, truth) on a bridge. They caught him on a GoPro camera and he was apprehended. He confessed to everything and was only charged with a misdemeanor. They're going to try to press charges for assault.

Last night we had a run in with another new impatient Camaro driver.

I went through that intersection at 1:00 AM, about 30 minutes after it happened. Thought it was a road block, must have been 20 police cars. Then I saw the mangled bike in the middle of the road.

Bet your heart raced. It would be illegal to set up a road block there anyway. But that is a fawked up thing.

Nope not yet that I am aware of..Somehow the traffic cam couldn't pick up the license plate on video without the flash of the red light camera for tickets. Sounds shady.

It makes me nervous when I have to share the road with cyclists. I wish they would use the sidewalk.

Nashville Municipal Code:

12.60.100 Riding on sidewalks.
A. No person shall operate a bicycle upon a sidewalk within a business district

I don't know the law(s) where you live.

There was a mangled motorcycle in the middle of Kingston Pike 2 nights ago right by the Walgreens at West Town mall. Anybody know what happened there? I didn't see a car around.

I could have sworn I saw the story on the news about a week ago that think they found the SUV at an apartment complex in M'boro. The paint job seemed to match and it had damage on the front right consistent with damage it would have taken had it a bike.

Kind of hard to do 20 mph on the sidewalk. Then it would be pedestrians getting hit. Some parts of the country just aren't cycle friendly.

That's actually against the law in many places.

Not a good idea to be riding around at midnight, but that's no reason to get run over from behind on a straight road.

This. State law in Colorado makes riding on sidewalks, unless there are special circumstances (small shoulder on a busy road, etc.), illegal. You can be ticketed for it.
