Multiple Sources Saying Justin Worley Will Indeed Start USCjr. and Rest of Season...

So, you're suggesting nance couldn't come in next year and hand the ball off in mop up duty while lettin Worley redshirt? That makes zero sense.

Nance is going to be a casualty more than likely to let us sign a player this recruiting cycle. I think the whole redshirt idea is dumb. Most players hate being red shirted. I guarantee you if you asked Worley, if he would rather be red shirted or come start the final 4 games of the season, his answer would be different than our dumb fans.

Who's to say Worley is even good? If he's not, we are giving a kid another year of eligibility when we could phase him out quicker.

No, he isn't, but you are burning the redshirt of a kid not because he can help you win the East, but in hopes of winning 6 games.

That certainly isn't changing to crimson, but it does identify a certain amount of legit concern on the staff about winning 6 games at Tennessee.

Waco... have you looked at your own team and the QB situation there , come on man

It's not gonna happen. If Worley is the #2 next year, he will be the next QB getting the reps. Whether it is mop up duty or whatever you wanna call it. He will get reps so he will be ready if Bray gets hurt again.

And no one should give a rat's ass.

Dooley doesn't have the track record to get 4 or 5 years to build this program back. He knows he has to start winning and soon.

Simms isn't winning any games against SEC competition. Worley may or may not but continuing to do the same thing over and expecting different results is by definition insanity.

And don't think these kids ain't smart enough to figure that out.

It's possible for Worley to redshirt next year and I would like for him to, but I just don't it happening.

true,at this point he has nothing to lose

Maybe Worley will simply win the job over Bray in the Spring and Fall of next year and all of this talk will be irrelevant.......

Who are you gonna put in for mop up duty? Nance? Worley will be #2 next year and he will see the field. Also if Bray bolts for the NFL next year, you better be getting Worley some reps. He will not red shirt at this point. The only QB red shirting next year will be Peterman.

Peterman is the only reason they wouldn't want to red shirt Worley.

Just not sure they'll put Worley in unless they have to. If you've already played South Carolina and Arkansas, I'm not sure what playing Georgia State will teach ya. Even Morgan Newton would have a field day against them

Did you miss the USCe game last season? Bray had his coming out party in the second half against the same team after sitting half the season. It's what any head coach worth a crap would do when they have no depth at numerous positions. I have watched Stevie Superior do this and much more for many years.

True, If Bray had started that game maybe TN would have won? But Bray had already played some minutes and had thrown a few balls (against Bama).

Plus as CDD said, JW has been the three rather than the two, and hasn't gotten nearly the number of snaps in practice as Bray did as the two last year. Makes me worried.

then whos backup?

If he is the best QB behind Bray he is. Mop up games can be handled by someone else. If Bray gets hurt in the 4th game and is out for several games or the entire year Worley comes in anyway. Unless we just cancel the season if our #1 goes down.

I maybe wrong but the RS is not official til the end of the year anyway, most good coaches leave the door open to play whoever they need to win and use the RS when they don't.

Not sure I follow.

Brissett played because the 2 guys ahead of him were injured. Brantley with the ankle/leg and Driskel with the sprained ankle.

What am I missing?

I think we're gonna see alot of Neal, Lane, and Poole and not put too much on Worley in his first start. Hopefully he won't have to throw it more than 20 times unless it's absolutely necessary.

Nance. Only if he is in the game when it's out of control. If we need a back-up to come in and win a game, then I would want Worley. Again, I don't see it happening because I don't think it's possible to go through an entire year with one QB.

What ever happens, CDD will be damned for doing it or damned for not doing it.

Without having seen him throw one ball, i am really down about TN's prospects for the USC game. JMO.

Would be more worried if Simms was still the QB. Yea, Worley is a true freshman and I'm sure he'll have true fresh moments but Simms looks like a guy they just pulled out of the stands. No way Worley plays any worse. In two starts Simms is 14 for 37 with 186 yards and 3 INT 0 TD. Like I've said, I feel bad for Simms but hes just bad in every aspect of the QB position.
