I don't have Twitter so I'm wondering where Hyams is on all of this.

I was told by sources that he is almost ready to report that CPF has been hired as Director of Athletics........

Couldn't agree more!! I was getting pretty down about the rumor mill until Pruitt was named. He's a great hire and I think we really should be excited about it. I'm sure he has some good OC's in mind to round out the team.

Def Coordinator under Saban, Fisher and Richt. Has multiple national championship rings as a Coord./Assit. SEC guy. Great Recruiter. Could have stayed at Bama as DC for a few more years and waited for another school....chose Tennessee!

Could be Saban 2.0? Guess well know next September!

Why is it we hire a lifelong Bama man? Knowing if he does well here he's going to Bama when Saben retires you can't tell me this is all we could get

We just watched a season of the worst offense in Vol history. It’s not going to be all roses and sunshine. Though we should improve, especially on defense. Let’s give the guy a chance.

His resume is a lot deeper than a stint with Saban...Pruitt is the real deal and we are d@mn lucky to get him! I haven't been this excited since I thought we were gonna steal gundy...and honestly Pruitt has a higher ceiling. Not to mention it's nice to see all my Bama friends pissed lol. I really didn't think Phil would pull it off but I'll tip my hat...this is an incredible hire.

I remember Thompson, he was a good recruiter and LB coach. Left when Sensuri hired

That is kind of what happens with these hires. One side wins the other doesn't. What doesn't make sense to me is not supporting the program. It doesn't really matter what you think this coach will or will not do, because no one knows yet. We can speculate he will be great because of his resume, we can speculate he will be awful because he has never been THE MAN. No one knows, so why not support the coach.

All this complaining sounds an awful lot to me like a poor man's Jimmy Haslam. Think about it...if any of you who are decrying this hire now (one that is at the very least supported by a great DC coaching and recruiting resume) because you didn't get your man (whether that was Kiffin, Gruden, or some other "homerun") had the money you would most definitely be doing what Haslam was trying to.
