Hate to quote myself, but to add a note.

Not that it was necessary, but what Mullen did is a very effective way to show his players he has 'their back'. Players will play to their limit for a coach that shows that kind loyalty.. That kind of effort would be worth any fine incurred.....

Did Florida DC Todd Grantham get fined? In all the times they showed him during the game he never had his mask on properly.

That was my point. Maybe incites his players to riot is a poor choice of words, but that whole melee doesn't happen without his reaction. That whole thing was on him.

I wonder if Pruitt's loyalty to JG will have the same effect.

Isn't the issue there JG's 'limit'? I'm obviously a Gator fan, but in all honesty, JG is kind of like Jeff Driskel was for us............the ceiling is low.

It was odd that Pruitt and a couple other coaches got fined for masks while Florida had to postpone the LSU game because of an outbreak.

Definitely not trying to defend JG. I want him gone. But in some ways I do admire Pruitt's loyalty. Hopefully he will be as loyal to HB soon.

I agree. Also I don't think he should be suspended but the fine should have been very stiff...

I’m Volunteer all the way. Based on what I have seen since Mullen became Florida’s coach I believe he is a very good HC. Not Saban level but good nonetheless. We would be much better with him if he had wanted to come here.

Pruitt’s actions were premeditated. Mullens actions were spontaneous over a dirty hit. I respect him for that. Pruitt had some passion at times the first couple of years but I don’t remember him getting fired up this year very much. Maybe the unsportsmanlike two weeks ago but what else?

For a head coach of a major university, Mullen's actions were childish, ignorant and ignited a brawl. I'm sure a brawl was not his intention but he should've been slapped with a very large fine.
