Mullen’s Offense vs Pruitt’s Defense

The only thing that has impressed me with Florida is their D-line.

But is there D-Line really that good or is it a combination of Miami not being real good up front

Florida's in the same boat we are, except Mullen is a snake oil salesman, just like CBJ! There's no way they're a top-10 team and I believe our game in Gainesville will be much closer than many anticipate. JMO

I just don’t think UF is that good. I’ve called our game against them a win all year. This game does not change that.

If Miami had an average Oline they would have won this game. Their oline was our oline last year. Hopefully we have improved.

People comparing Mullen to Butch Jones May be more right than we realize... I sure hope so anyways.

Don't get your hopes up, Mullen can coach and is considered one of the better play callers in the country. I think he'll do good at Fl but I think the gators will struggle some this year, not very physical on their offensive front.

One of the big questions was do they have a disruptive pass rusher to replace Polite? Unfortunately it looks like Zuniga may be that guy. He was unstoppable but that tackle for Miami seemed pretty bad. No doubt it would be easy to get excited about our chances after watching that game but UF will not play that poorly at home after 2 more games to get things together. With that said, they don’t look like world beaters at all. Toney will be a handful and we can’t let Franks beat us outside the pocket but if we have improved like I hope I certainly have more hope for a win than I did 4 hours ago.

Florida fans should be disappointed. I’m telling you right now if we can play only slightly better then Miami then we win. Florida does not deserve that #8 ranking and Miami fizzled out towards the end and gave the game away.

Florida was begging them to win and Miami was like “nah you can have it.”

So apparently because Butch Jones and Dan Mullen’s careers have not followed the exact same trajectory, there is no comparison.

My point is that both have a similar penchant for style over substance. We just watched a sloppy undisciplined yet talent stocked Florida team try to choke away a game to a Miami team whose offensive line might be worse than some of the sorry units we have fielded in the last few years.

I’m betting Florida fans are happy to have won, but less than thrilled at the product they are seeing on the field right now. I remember the feeling.

Kirk promised me before the game the LT was a future star in this sport and then he proceeded to give up like 8 sacks.

I don't think they are anything alike. Mullen is a players coach, one of the better play callers in the country and well respected in almost all coaching circles, Jones is none of these. Butch was the highest paid 8th grade gym teacher in the history of all middle school gym teachers, and I apologize to any middle school gym teachers this may have insulted by me comparing him to you! He and Mullen are nothing alike.
