Mueller Report Imminent

McConnell blocks resolution calling for Mueller report to be released publicly

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) on Monday blocked a resolution calling for special counsel Robert Mueller's report to be released publicly.

Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) asked for unanimous consent for the nonbinding resolution, which cleared the House 420-0, to be passed by the Senate following Mueller's submission of his final reporton Friday.

"Whether or not you're a supporter of President Trump ... there is no good reason not to make the report public," Schumer said from the floor. "It's a simple request for transparency. Nothing more, nothing less."

But McConnell objected, noting that Attorney General William Barr is working with Mueller to determine what in his report can be released publicly and what cannot.

"The special counsel and the Justice Department ought to be allowed to finish their work in a professional manner," McConnell said. "To date, the attorney general has followed through on his commitments to Congress. One of those commitments is that he intends to release as much information as possible."

And we are not always able to agree on what is an important lie. I think Trump has lied about how much money he has donated to charitable causes (including the families of 9/11 victims), most of his supporters don't consider that important. He has lowered the bar for behavior.
Don't care about HIS money. Care about how he acts as president vis a vis the country.

Three CNN Reporters Fumble Attempted Football Analogy

CNN anchor Brooke Baldwin along with CNN's Gloria Borger and Michael Smerconish fumbled a football analogy Monday in regards to Attorney General William Barr's handling of the Robert Mueller report.

Baldwin began by saying the best way the story was explained to her was a football analogy, where Barr intercepted a punt by Mueller. Punts cannot be intercepted.

"So I keep hearing this is the best way that was explained to me, this football analogy, and the fact that Barr, Gloria—did Barr intercept what's already been perceived as this Mueller punt when it comes to obstruction? Right, the Barr intercept and the Mueller punt to Congress," Baldwin said.

"I think he intercepted it and he ran with it himself," Borger said. "We saw in his letter that he said well, you know, clearly, a decision was not made about exoneration or whether the president committed a crime, so therefore, he said that you know, Rod Rosenstein and I have concluded that there's not sufficient evidence to establish that the president committed an obstruction of justice crime."

Then Smerconish continued the analogy.

"So, I'll stick with your football analogy and I would say that the ball was caught by Barr but he lateraled to Rod Rosenstein," Smerconish said.

To all the Pubs on here celebrating: Just take a look back at all of Trump's Twitter attacks on Mueller over the last year and a half (literally thousands!). Now, you are rejoicing in his findings? Strange.

For me it isn’t about Mueller in anyway shape or form , he was a tool ( take that anyway you want ) used by his bestie comey to try and oust Trump from office . I take great pleasure in watching the mental gymnastics of a heard of sheep that bought into that “Russian collusion “ BS that CNN spent 24/7 running to feed those sheep . The even funnier part to me is that those same ones that CNN lied to , and gave them false hope that this was ever a real thing , will now pivot and still try to hold up CNN as a credible source for their news source . I intentionally left out the others like morning joe , MSNBC , which were at times just as bad because CNN tries to declare themselves as not leaning and “ The most trusted name in news “

I don't think the Democrats have quite figured out at this point they should stop asking for things that can (and likely will) come back to bite them later on.

Demanding the full report from the DOJ has a huge potential to backfire on them.

I don’t think the idiots have realized what’s happening to them yet.

A redacted version of Mueller's report should be made available and I'm sure it eventually will.

...or it's possible that the investigator wasn't biased and conducted an honest probe of the facts. There doesn't have to be bias found everywhere you look. It is quite possible that Trump's attacks against Mueller's integrity were simply unfounded.

The man has been put under the biggest most heavily funded political microscope the world has ever seen for 2 years , the whole time declaring himself innocent of doing wrong , I’d say the term witch hunt now applies since he was found not to have did it and was correct in what he said about the whole thing .

If there's even one redaction in that report, your side of the aisle will screech and scream about a "COVER UP!!!!!!!!" until they are blue in the face.

Oddly the right screeching about a coverup is how the Benghazi investigations began. Hold onto your seat.

So, you're saying the Benghazi investigations were perfectly okay?
Actually investigating Benghazi was a worthwhile investigation, that's not what they were doing.
Actually investigating Russian interference was a worthwhile investigation, Trump just had too many people in his orbit that lied about their contacts with Russians.

Six Democratic committee chairs in the House sent a letter to Attorney General William Barr on Monday requesting that he submit the full report from special counsel Robert Mueller's Russia investigation to Congress by April 2.

In a three-page letter to Barr, the lawmakers wrote that his summary of the Mueller report "is not sufficient for Congress."
