Much respect for CJP for finishing what he started.

Yeah, Kiffin is awesome. As he sits in Boca Raton staring at his phone while a bunch of power 5 programs snatched up other coaches.

Pruitt’s decision to continue coaching Bama has ZERO impact on our win/loss record for 2018, therefore it’s completely irrelevant, as are your feelings about it.

There’s the 2 facts you were looking for.

Yes having a P5 school want you means you are legit. Just look at Jones, Dooley, etc. It's the end all be all, AD's are great decision makers.

I look forward to calling you out on any post not related to W/L record. Because this is the Volnation Win Loss Record Message Board, correct??

Where is his commitment to Tennessee?

He is demonstrating where his loyalty lies and it is not with Tennessee.

Do you realize how much work he's putting in to do both jobs? The lazy man would just jump ship and move on to his new job. This guy LOVES what he does...he has to continue as D Coord through the playoffs.

So he was able to work on an exit for his contract yet chose to make UT wait until he finished with bama? Means your claim he respects the contract pretty ridiculous now

For one, we need a s&c coach immediately to start to transform this team. That has not been done and if the rumors are true then the current players won't do it in their own. Is he meeting with the current team, watching their tape, etc?

From what I hear he's getting (or got) the best S&C coach in the country but he's still working during the playoffs so prob won't be hired until after.

So you think coaches should just take a month off each year this time of year?

There's no way Pruitt had time to properly analyze what we have returning because he's analyzing film for Bama and not UT.

I'd think people could see that knowing every weakness for the Vols would be pretty important as you decide on who to offer scholarships to during recruiting season.

I keep hearing things like this from various sources...that he's been coaching during the day and then immediately working for UT all night. That's some crazy dedication. He could have easily moved on and saved himself tons of work but he's dedicated. Love it.

To me, and I would hope to anyone that is capable of taking the Big Orange blinders off for a moment he is demonstrating his character and commitment to finishing the job.

I would much rather him finish like this than the way Kiffin did last year. And to think we had lots of fans that wanted Kiffin back.

Who knows if he has or not, but you and I both know that spending a month breaking down Clemson for Alabama doesn't help us, at all. At the very best it only hurts us a little bit. At worst it hurts significantly.

Hurt us? We went 0-8 in the SEC and they talked about us multiple times during the Sugar Bowl!!! In a positive light. This is great for recruiting...and if you haven't paid attention to the recruits his staff is signing you've missed a bunch because it's amazing.

Of course he did. He's the HC and hired his DC for a reason.
I hope you are right. I hope Pruitt can take our talentless (or so I am told) roster and produce a 10 win season because he is so awesome.

We won't look anything like Bama next year. Nothing even remotely close.

no, we won't. and anyone expecting that in 2018, should simply be ignored.

Kiffin’s record in power 5 head coaching are why he’s at FAU, not because ADs can’t see the genius in Kiffin that you see.

Lol. No it isn't. What was Chad Morris record? He has a sucky record at a non P5 and still got a P5 job.

Lol. His record is not his hurdle. It was his behavior.

He will continue to rattle of 10 win seasons at FAU. Some P5 school will take a chance and he will kill it.

Jalen Hurts nd the Bama O look pedestrian without him.

If he bags Cochran, I'll :thud:

well that's the dream scenario, and if we did wind up with Cochran, then all this anxiety about what should or should not be done is moot. that'd be huge, and totally worth whatever short term issue it created for this off season.

still think that's a long shot though.

I'm fine with CJP finishing at Bama. Bama is going to get their recruits as always. Pruitt may have done more for recruiting at UT by finishing out. He will get in to see recruits after next week and they will know what he's going to do on the defensive side of the ball at UT. We will get ours too.

Chad Morris is at Arkansas because of his ability to recruit the northern part of Texas, which the Hogs desperately need to be competitive.

Kiffin is averaging at or less than 8 wins a year as a head coach in power 5. He’s a great coordinator, slightly above average as a head coach in power 5. Add in his affinity to troll people on Twitter like a 16 year old and you’ve got a long term contract at that football powerhouse FAU

Impossible.. I read on VolNation that the program is 'standing still'. The program is suffering because Pruitt isn't here yet......

Chad Morris is at Arky because there is an excess of supply of incompetent ADs.

Also, 8 wins a year will get you quite a few P5 jobs. He is at FAU because of his antics, not because of his skills.

No P5 coach that gives a damn about his job would want FAU on their schedule. I noticed they play OU next year. Guessing that was scheduled awhile back.

Our recruiting is not aided at all by Alabama and Georgia playing for the national title. Period.

Other laughable points in this thread since my last post involve wondering if people are working out at this time of year or out vacationing.

I know this, players I know personally from the 80s and 90s into the early 2000s worked out 2x a day, every non game day.

The great UT linebackers in the late 90s for instance, worked out at 4am and 4pm every day of the off-season.

These guys don't take 2 weeks off, at least not the successful ones.

Some of you folks discussing loyalty and whatnot need to step outside of your 'fan bubble' and look at this from the real world perspective. This is a JOB to CJP and other coaches. I know when I left my last position, I gave a month's notice so I could finish working on projects so as not to leave my coworkers or our clients high and dry. I also was still available for project related questions for many months into my new position at my current place of employment. When you work somewhere, you don't just leave and not look back - not unless you're Lane Kiffin. CJP doesn't "love" Alabama, or UT. He loves coaching football and he appears to be a man that wants to honor prior commitments before fully transitioning to UT. I'm certain this was agreed upon during his hire process, which means Fulmer is ok with it. Stop making a big deal out of something that is nothing.

Gave you a like but would like to add: I hope and believe Pruitt will come to love UT and the feeling of leading the Big Orange to victory over Bama, UGA, UF and the rest.

Pruitt is not the S&C coach. You don't really think he going to be in the weight room everyday with the players do you, because that is not his job.
Funny how everyone just assumes folks are just sitting around twiddling their thumbs because the boss is out of the office.

The players sitting around twiddling their thumbs when they could be in the weight room are the ones who will likely be picking splinters out of their rear ends next Fall if they even still have a place on the team. There is a new sheriff in town! Oh wait... he WILL BE in town in a few more days, but that's beside the point.
