For those who do not know: "Denali" is the Alaskan name for Mount McKinley, the highest peak in North America and the biggest mountain in the world measured from land to peak.

Not really a suggestion for a nickname, but I thought it fit here and was kind of funny.

I set down with my dad recently who is 82 years old and a lifelong VOLS fan. We were talking about recent commits and I showed my dad a picture of McCullers. The first thing out of his mouth in his heavy Tennessee drawl was "SWEET LORD ALL MIGHTY! look at the size of that feller. He's got to be about a axe handle length across his eyebrows". Of course I busted up laughing.

Well since that time we have been referring to McCullers as SLAM (sweet lord all mighty) any time his name comes up in conversation.

ThatÂ’s all I got.....

Some say......that he once ate an entire birthday cake before his friends could tell him there was a cheerleader inside it....and that his senior pictures in high school are all aerial photographs. All we know is, he's called Daniel McCullers.

I like it, spur of the moment names are best, IMO.

"The freezer". Refrigerator dont have anything on him and if you try to bring it in the middle he will put you on ice.

After watching video on McCullers, I'm hoping our coaches make him understand that his size isn't enough to make it in the SEC. Love the guy, don't expect a city bus to drive like a Ferrari but he seems slow. Of course if his job is just to clog the middle, I can see he does that rather well. His pursuit seems to need a bit of working on. I notice he is often double teamed which indicates opponents having serious respect for the guy's ability to break through the line. But again, in the SEC expect OL to be big, strong, and agile. So hopefully our OL and SC coaches really work on him because if he transforms into a bona fide SEC NT, I don't how anybody is going to stop him short of the cut block filth Vanderbilt's Franklin teaches his players.

His recent interviews bear out the fact that he is fully aware of SEC speed. Wants to lose about 20 more pounds and get faster/quicker/more agile.

This guy is going to be a force and imagine how good he can develop when he becomes a sophomore and junior after a couple of off seasons in the weight room. Things are look up for Tennessee's defense.
