I know everyone is still pissed about our loss to Penn St., but our basketball Vols play Mississippi St. on Sunday to kick-off the SEC schedule and try to defend their SEC Eastern division crown. What is everyone's thoughts on the game?

started this thread yesterday under the heading on the brighter side. I dont know a whole lot about MSU. We need to tighten up on D to do well in the SEC. People with big men will give us trouble but we have a nack for getting them into foul trouble. I am pretty much quoting myself from the other thread so maybe they could merge it into this one.

My bad, I didn't know you had started another thread. Rest assured there will probably be another 4 or 5 threads started about the game before Sunday. As for the game, Jamont Gordon scares me, but I think that he is really the only really good player that they have. As long as Jajuan and/or Lofton is on and our big guys play like they have been then I don't see any reason that we shouldn't beat them by 10-15.

They are a dangerous team led be Alex Gordon from Tennessee and Tyler Hansbrough's brother.

We really need this win b/c we are not back at TBA until Jan 20th. It is hard to play on the road in bball and we have OSU mixed in there as well. This game can help set the tempo for the road trip.

watch out for the true freshman, barry stwewart. hes a good'n. i saw him play in hs and he is truly one of the most intelligent basketball players ive had the pleasure of watching. hes a threat beyond the arc and has one of the best short range jump shots ive seen. not to mention, he was on sportscenter top 10 for two hand dunking on a unfortunate defender.

I saw the Bulldogs earlier this year at Miami. Typical Rick Stansbury team. Defensively sound, not the greatest shooters in the world. This is the kind of game UT has to win at home to have a successful SEC season.
