I've been critical of him, especially his development of players. But, our last 3 WR recruiting classes have been as elite as you will find anywhere. He's done a helluva job stocking our WR room.View attachment 767917
After the Keys commitment, Kelsey Pope is now ranked as the No. 2 recruiter in the country this cycle.
Your 20 or so callbacks here have been cute, but not really sure how my post fits in with your agenda. Are you instead of the opinion that our WR play last year was good? And I'll add that Nico didn't help. But there were a lot of drops and inability to get open that contributed to the offensive woes. I'm fine with the belief that the talent was not superb, necessarily. Thankfully that shouldn't be the issue moving forward. The perception is hopefully about to shift.
Right..And the thing with me is LSU has always been my 2nd favorite team. That started 10- years ago when we still had divisions. I picked someone I wanted to see beat Ala's ass and win the West. They just need a new HC, BK is absolute trash,as was Coach O before him. Not sure who the dum dum's are making their Coaching hires. It's a really good job and the right HC could do some things down there. GBO!!The saltiness of LSU fans also makes me laugh because not only did we smoke them and Kelly in their own house but we’ve been to the playoffs and they haven’t.
No agenda here. Just having fun in hindsight.Your 20 or so callbacks here have been cute, but not really sure how my post fits in with your agenda. I think the saltiness of LSU fans only exists in Vol fans heads. I've seen every comment on this on Tiger Rant and LSU's 247 site and they don't seem that upset about it. There are a couple of people saying stuff about the fact the offense is what it is as far as producing NFL ready receivers, but they're just piggy backing on what actual NFL guys have already said. I think they should be more worried than they are.

During a period in which Heup inherited recruiting and scholarship restrictions and a garbage-fire team and reputation. Amazing job. Headed straight to the top.I have always heard people say that Tennessee can never recruit again like we did under Fulmer obviously that’s not the case. Josh and his staff have recruited better and better every year and it looks like the relationships that they’re building are finally paying off.
Having lurked on Tigerdroppings, I will respectfully disagree with you, and add that particularly when it comes to baseball, their fans can be a-holes. Not against any one school, though. They are just very arrogant in general, and resentful of anyone they perceive to be a Johnny-Come-Lately (which is how they think of Tony Vitello and Tennessee).I think the saltiness of LSU fans only exists in Vol fans heads. It was always ridiculous to think that. Why wouldn't Tennessee be able to recruit at an elite level again? This program has everything you'd want...money, unsurpassed fan support, facilities, Neyland Stadium, tons of talent within a 2-4 hour radius, one of the most recognizable brands in college sports, it's in the SEC, and Knoxville is a great college town in a beautiful area. All we lacked was functional leadership. Alabama went through the same thing.I have always heard people say that Tennessee can never recruit again like we did under Fulmer obviously that’s not the case. Not to mention the recruiting restrictions slowly fading away after our ADs full compliance over the last couple of years. It's truly insane what this staff had to deal with over the last couple of years and I'm shocked at how many Tennessee fans didn't realize it. We literally had 28 weeks (7 months), where our staff wasn't allowed to talk to or even text recruits including a required week in December and January right before signing day. Not to mention having 36 less official visits than other schools over our probationary period. That's literally where you make the most ground in recruiting. Hats off to this staff for winning 10 games a season while dealing with that BSI have always heard people say that Tennessee can never recruit again like we did under Fulmer obviously that’s not the case. Disagree with my opinion? You've a right to whatever yours is but so am I. I am going off of what I've seen with my own eyes. You're bringing up a different sport entirely. There are a handful of salty fans but it seems to be the exception.Having lurked on Tigerdroppings, I will respectfully disagree with you, and add that particularly when it comes to baseball, their fans can be a-holes. It is starting to feel like the years from 1994-1998 when Tennessee was recruiting as well as anyone .... The 1997 class with Jamal Lewis, Cosey Coleman, Deon Grant and Travis Henry was awesome.I have always heard people say that Tennessee can never recruit again like we did under Fulmer obviously that’s not the case. Nevermind the fact he’s currently the #2 recruiter in the country and has coached a Biletnikoff winner.I still stand by my comment on WR production needing to improve. Feel free to try and dig up old posts to try and pull a “gotcha” on me, but my concerns have always been about the development and production from the WR unit, not his recruiting. Nothing I said in my comment contradicts that.
To be fair, how much better does he look if Nico hits even just 25% of the deep balls he missed last year?I still stand by my comment on WR production needing to improve.
