It is because most fans do not understand what DEVELOPMENT looks like. Pointing out how much production and elite WR had, typically with an elite QB, and saying see that WR was had great development is not how that works. Players have a ceiling based on their physical traits. Development means getting a player to excel to the best of their ability. That means they have the mental part of the game down. That means they have consistent habits of how they watch film, how they line up, how they set up cuts, how they use their hands to prepare to receive the ball, etc. Some players get incredible development but only have moderate production. Some players with freakish elite physical tools get to the NFL and need lots of development still to reach their potential because they have bad habits but got by anyway. Most of the times pointing out how highly players were drafted is much more a sign of recruiting prowess and being in a great system, surrounded by great talent. Some times they also get good development but those things are not always found together.I don't think so. You aren't the only one. I don't get the criticism at all. I know we had a weird year last year but we also had an inexperienced QB. And Pope has put receivers into the league every year he's been here, has he not? I guess I just don't understand what the expectations are.
And i really think Bey is way under rankedI think you're right. Here are our other top wr classes (247 only goes back to 2000):

I don't understand how someone turns into a great recruiter. Feel like it's a trait that you either have or you don't. Kind of like leadership.I've been critical of Kelsey Pope's coaching and I think there's a lot uncertain about the 2025 on-field product but the man has turned into an elite recruiter. Deserves a ton of credit for this one. Top WR we've ever had committed in modern era along with best overall class. And a great 2025 recruiting class.
He's had big fish on the line in the past and lost them. Really hoping he reels this one in.I've been critical of Kelsey Pope's coaching and I think there's a lot uncertain about the 2025 on-field product but the man has turned into an elite recruiter.
